Space availability is calculated and displayed according to category both in Commander and across distribution channels, so it’s important to create space categories that are meaningful.

Note: In order to create and delete space categories, employees need the configure service privilege. Learn about updating employee profiles.

Create a space category

Set up space categories to group spaces by type (e.g., single, triple, and so on).

Note: If you have mapped your space categories, remember to map any new space categories you create (if you don't, they won't be listed in Distributor).

  1. Go to Main menu > Settings > Services.
  2. Click on your stay service.
  3. On the left, in the list of Settings, click Space categories.
  4. Click the + button.
  5. Enter the space category details.
  6. Click Create.

Delete a space category

A space category must be empty before you can delete it. To empty a space category, delete all of the spaces in it or move them to another space category.

  1. Go to Main menu > Settings > Services.
  2. Click on your stay service.
  3. On the left, in the list of Settings, click Space categories.
  4. Click on the space category you want to delete.
  5. Click the Trash icon.
  6. Confirm by clicking Delete.
