🤖 An automated email is sent automatically by Mews when something occurs (for example, when a payment card fails). Automated emails need to be enabled.

If an automated email is not enabled, it won't be sent at all.

🔧 A manual email is only sent when someone at your property manually chooses to send them. Manual emails don't need to be enabled; instead, you can choose whether they're sent by default or not.

If a manual email is sent by default, this means that the option to send it is preselected. It is not sent automatically, and an employee can always deselect the option to send the email.

Enable automated emails 🤖

1. Go to Main menu > Settings > Services.

2. Click on your stay service.

3. Open the Options tab.

4. Find the Visit options field and select the relevant option to enable an email:

After end

This email is automatically sent when a reservation is checked out.
Select Enable automatic after end email.

After start

This email is automatically sent when a reservation is checked in.

Select Enable automatic after start email.


Confirmation and booker confirmation

These emails are sent when a reservation is made or an optional reservation/inquiry is confirmed.

There are two versions of the confirmation email. When enabled, the version that is sent depends on whether the recipient is a guest or booker.

Note: This email is only automatically sent for channel and direct (Distributor) reservations.

For channel reservations: Select Send confirmation email to channel reservations for reservations.

For direct (Distributor) reservations: Select Send confirmation email to Distributor reservations.

Release reminder

This email is automatically sent 24 hours before an unconfirmed, optional reservation is scheduled to be released.

Select Enable automatic after start email

5. Click Save.

Set default settings for manual emails 🔧

1. Go to Main menu > Settings > Services.

2. Click on your stay service.

3. Open the Options tab.

4. Find the Visit options field, and follow the steps for the specific email:

Cancellation

This email is sent to customers when their reservation is canceled. Learn more.

✍️ You can customize this email.

🔧 This email is not sent automatically. When you cancel a reservation, you can choose whether or not to send the email to the customer and/or booker.

If you want this checkbox to be selected by default:

5. Under Visit options, select Send cancellation email by default.

6. Click Save.


Confirmation & Booker confirmation

The confirmation email is sent when a reservation is made or an optional reservation/inquiry is confirmed. There are two versions of the confirmation email: one for guests and one for bookers.

If you want this option to be selected by default:

5. Under Visit options, select: Send confirmation email by default for reservations created in Commander.
