Use our Customer Web Portal and our other website integration options to fine tune the information you share with your customers!

Custom Fields

Once you add custom fields to your account, you can control which ones your customers can see in the Customer Web Portal. Some of your custom fields may be intended for internal purposes only. Let's take a look at how to share or hide your custom fields.

First, go to Settings > Customize > Custom Fields (Screenshot A)

To see whether or not that field is visible to your customers by looking at the Show To Customers column. To edit that status, click on the Edit button to the left of the name of the field (Screenshot B).

From here, click on the Show to Customers checkbox (Screenshot C) to either check or un-check that checkbox, depending on whether or not you would like your customers to see that field in the Customer Web Portal. Then press Save.

Job Types

Once you add all the different types of jobs you perform, you can limit which jobs they are able to request online.

To change the different types of jobs your customers are allowed to request in the Customer Web Portal, go to Settings > Lists > Job Types (Screenshot D).

On the Job Types page, look at the Show to Customer column (Screenshot E) to see which types of jobs are visible to your customers.

Click on the name of the job type you'd like to update. Check or un-check Show to Customer checkbox, depending on whether or not you would like your customers to see that job type in the Customer Web Portal. Then press Save (Screenshot F).

Sharing Files

Within each job in mHelpDesk, you have the option to share photos and other files with your customers in the Customer Web Portal.

Click on the Jobs tab, then click on the job you'd like to open (Screenshot G).

In the Files section at the bottom of the job, then select the +Add button to upload a photo or other file (Screenshot H).

Before uploading your file, check or un-check the Share this File with Customer checkbox (Screenshot I), depending on whether or not you would like your customers to see that file in the Customer Web Portal.
