Working Within the Hardware Parts Tab

The Hardware Parts tab is where hardware items for the product are located. Note: If the Hardware Parts tab does not contain any hardware items, they may be contained in a subassembly.

Hardware items can be manually added to the Hardware Parts tab. For the hardware to show up in reports when processing a work order, you must have, at a minimum, a part name, and a quantity. A width, height, or depth may be required for the hardware item you are adding.

If the hardware item has a 3D drawing block matching the name of the hardware item, values in the X, Y, and Z origins and rotations will allow the hardware item to be drawn. An associative rotation is required if the hardware item has associative machining tokens. For example, concealed euro-style hinges and base plates have associative machining.

Right-clicking with a cell selected in the Hardware Parts tab will display the following menu.

  1. Save Cut List to Disk – Allows you to save the product as a CUTX file.

  2. Cut – Allows you to cut a cell, or range of cells, from the spreadsheet.

  3. Copy – Allows you to copy a cell, or range of cells, from the spreadsheet.

  4. Paste – Allows you to paste a cut or copied cell, or range of cells, to another location.

  5. Paste Special – Allows you to select special formatting when pasting cut or copied cells.

  6. Microvellum Clipboard – Allows you to add, or paste, a hardware item to/from the clipboard.

  7. Show Hardware List – Allows you to select a hardware item from the specification groups.

  8. Remove Material from Parts List – Changes the material of the selected parts to become a negative material (draw only).

  9. Insert Function – Allows you to access the Formula Editor for the selected cell.

  10. Insert Row(s ) – Inserts a row, or rows, above the selected row(s).

  11. Delete Row(s) – Deletes the selected rows.

  12. Clear Contents – Clears the contents of a cell.

  13. Workbook Designer – Allows you to access the Workbook Designer interface.

  14. Close Product Editor – Closes Edit Design Data.
