The Debug menu exists for a couple reasons: One, Mighty is still in beta and these options help us easily troubleshoot any issues that may arise due to updates to Mighty. Two, to maintain your privacy; the Debug menu allows you to send logs and other helpful information to our team for troubleshooting purposes only when we need them and when you're comfortable sharing!

The Debug Menu contains many other troubleshooting options too, we'll cover the ones you need to know below.

Reset Host

Resetting your host restarts your assigned VM (virtual machine) to give you a fresh session. This is similar to restarting your laptop and can help address various issues such as slow scrolling, typing, or general lag. We encourage you to use this setting if Mighty feels slower than you'd expect. The reset takes no more than 5-10 seconds and will preserve all of your tabs and state.

Logs

The logs section of the debug menu is helpful if you're encountering an issue that you can't seem to resolve with reset host. If you navigate to Logs > Send logs to Mighty this will share your event logs with our engineers to allow for additional troubleshooting.

Run Internet Speed Test

This is helpful if you've seen errors that mention network connectivity issues or if you think your network might be contributing to any slowness/lag you're seeing in Mighty. Once you run the speed test we'd recommend referencing the below tips (pulled from this doc) to ensure your network offers the necessary connectivity to run Mighty well.

Remove Graphical Glitches

From time to time, users sometimes experience "graphical glitches" that can interfere with their workflows. Below is a screenshot of what this might look like.

We're currently working on reducing these occurrences; in the meantime, you can use the Remove Graphical Glitches option to remedy such issues. It takes about 5 seconds to run, during which time Mighty will not be accessible. You will not lose any work or tabs.

Manually forward ports

If you're developing locally and Mighty isn't automatically picking up the port you're using you can leverage this option. Simply input the port number, dash delimited range of ports, or a comma delimited list of ports into the pop-up. Forwarded ports are preserved between sessions.

Upload /etc/hosts file

This option is the one you'll need to manually adjust DNS settings to resolve to a custom local record.

If you're still having network issues/have any questions please take a screenshot of your speed test results and share it with our support team.
