When you create an account on the platform you need to connect at least one social channel to it. The most popular channel is Instagram so here we prepared a guide on how to connect your Instagram account easily.
To opt-in to a campaign, the channel should be correctly set up and synced.
Step #1
Click Add near the Instagram icon. You will see the pop-up warning you that only business accounts can be used.
Why so? Business accounts give the ability to receive statistical information about your audience, their age, gender, counties, to see how popular your page is (avg. likes, shares, comments, etc). We use this data to show you relevant search results, to show YOU in search results for relevant campaigns, to make it possible for you to participate in campaigns and be paid with higher rates, to evaluate the results of campaigns, etc. If your account is not business yet, here is the link to learn how to switch it.
Step#2
Once you click Connect on the first pop-up the system asks you to enter Facebook credentials. No panic, we are on a good path :)
Please make sure to enter the credentials of the account which is associated with your Facebook Page.
Why so? Instagram is now owned by Facebook so we need to use Facebook API to receive statistics data. Because of this technical solution we need you to authorize the account that manages the Facebook Page connected with your Instagram account. Learn more about profile vs Page difference here.
Example: User A has an Instagram business account and a Facebook Page, they are connected. User A has his general FB account which can manage his FB Page (he literally can access the Page only with this account).
To connect an Instagram business account on the Mikz platform User A authorizes with the credential of the account that manages his FB Page. This is it!

How to check? It can happen that you are not sure whether the Page is connected with Instagram BA or not. The way to check is easy: Log in to your FB account > Go to your Page > Page Settings option on the left-side menu > Instagram.
Your Instagram account should be connected to your FB Page over there. If not - click Connect Account and follow suggested steps.
Step#3
When you authorized on the previous step please allow all permissions the system requests.
Once allowed and accepted on this last step your Instagram account will be connected to the profile on the platform and ready to participate in campaigns!
