Overview
Infinite stock would typically be used in scenarios where you receive order data containing product codes where you do need to despatch them, but you are not concerned with inventory tracking.
For example, a special promotional item or leaflet - or if you manufacture goods and you have a constant supply of the product.
Note: Enabling infinite stock will completely disable Stock Tracking (Booking in stock will not show on the product's stock-flow history), so please only use this when necessary.
Setting up Infinite Stock - Per Product
To set up Infinite Stock on a product-by-product basis, please do the following:
Click Products then Overview.
Search for the Product then click Edit.
Within the product details, click the Extra Details tab.
Turn Infinite Stock to ON.
Next, click Save.
(3PL Only) Setting up Infinite Stock - Per Client
To set up Infinite Stock on a client-by-client basis, please do the following:
Click Clients then Overview.
Search for a Client.
Next, click Actions then Edit.
Within the client details click the Defaults tab.
Turn Infinite Stock to ON.
Next, click Save.
Showing a pick location - Paper-based picking
To show the default picking location for Infinite Stock on the despatch note, please do the following:
Firstly, make sure you have a Default Pick Location set.
Next, click Settings then Customer Account Settings.
Click the Printing tab.
Enable Despatch Notes - Show Default Picking Location when stock is in unassigned.
Book into Product where Infinite Stock is enabled!
If you are getting this error (An Error Occurred: An Error Occurred when Updating Inventory Message: [MS]Cannot Book into Product where Infinite Stock is enabled!) when trying to book in stock, this is because Infinite Stock has been enabled on the Product.
If you want to book in stock for the product, you must disable Infinite Stock on the product.
The Infinite Stock setting on the product can be changed by navigating as follows:
Click Products then Overview.
Find the product.
Click Actions then Edit.
Go to the Extra Details tab.
Enable the Infinite Stock toggle.
