Overview

This help guide will provide an overview of Mintsoft's regionalisation feature, as well as a guide on how to set Mintsoft to your local time zone and select a regional tax type.

Regional Tax Type

Mintsoft has a Tax Type option under the Customer Account Settings page, which can be set to either Value Added Tax (VAT) or Goods and Service Tax (GST). This option will dynamically rename any references on Mintsoft based on the Tax Type option selected. The Tax type applies to CSV imports and exports in various parts of the system, with the columns being renamed from VAT to GST, if the setting is set to GST.

Note: The tax type is set against a customer's account and therefore any change will be applied for all users.

Setting your Tax Type

To set your Tax Type on Mintsoft, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click Settings then Customer Account Settings.

  2. Within the General tab scroll down to TaxType.

  3. Select the required Tax Type.

    • VAT.

    • GST.

  4. Finally, click Save and all references to the tax type on Mintsoft will be updated.

Setting your VAT/GST Rate

To set your VAT/ GST Rate on Mintsoft, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click Settings then click VAT/ GST Rates.

    • This option will be named depending on the Tax Type selected on Customer Account Settings.

  2. Set the Country and the Rate.

  3. Next, click Create.

If you make a mistake or need to remove a VAT rate, simply click Delete against the entry you want to remove.

Time Zone

Mintsoft has the ability for users to set their local Time zone. If you have operations across different time zones users can update their settings so that information is displayed in their local time.

Note: CSV imports currently won’t look for the local time you have set and will import in UTC-0. Additionally, batches scheduled to run across midnight in the UK will not execute. To prevent this issue, we recommend adjusting the batch schedule timings to ensure they do not coincide with midnight in the UK.

Setting your Time Zone

To set your local time zone, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click Settings then User Settings.

  2. Select your Time Zone.

  3. Finally, click Save.

    • Any time zone selected, when saved, will obey local day light savings.

    • Mintsoft will automatically update so that any time and date stamp will be displayed in local time to your user.
