IP Restrictions

To protect your Mintsoft account from unauthorized access it's recommended that you enable IP Restrictions so that users can only login from a restricted IP range e.g. Within the warehouse or corporate firewall etc.

Enabling the IP Restriction role

To set IP Restrictions, you first need to enable the role of the user(s) this will affect:

  1. Click Settings then Warehouse User Accounts.

  2. Find the user.

  3. Click Actions then ManageRoles.

  4. Select the roles required:

    • AdminIPRestricted - Will only allow the user to log in from valid IPs that are configured.

  5. Finally, click Update to save changes.

  6. Now it's time to add the IP Address(es) for the user(s).

Adding the whitelisted IP Addresses

Once you have enabled the permission for the user(s), you will then need to add the IP addresses:

  1. Click Settings then Customer Account Settings.

  2. Next, click the Contact Details tab.

  3. Within the Admin Whitelisted IPs field, paste the IP address(es).

    • This IP address will need to be the external facing IP address. Rather than local network ones so avoid ones like 192.168.0.1 etc. as they tend to be local.

    • Next time a user with the AdminIPRestricted role that logs in from another IP Address not listed in Customer Account Settings will get an error.

  4. Finally, click Save.

  5. This will take effect the next time that user logs in.
