Product and Location Label templates

If you would like a template to work from, please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.


Creating a product label document

If you would like to create a product label from scratch, please do the following:

  1. Launch Microsoft Word then click the Mailings tab.

  2. Click Start Mail Merge then click Labels.

  3. Select the label manufacturer from the Label Vendors drop-down.

  4. Select the Product Number then click OK.

  5. Click the Insert tab then click Quick Parts.

  6. Click Field then select MergeField from the Field names drop-down

  7. In Field Name type the name you require, possible values can be:

    • SKU.

    • EAN.

    • UPC.

    • DESCRIPTION.

    • NAME.

    • PRODUCT_ID.

      • We recommend using PRODUCT_ID if you or your client (3PL Only) have SKUs longer than 10 characters.

  8. Choose (none) as the Format.

  9. Next, click OK.

  10. Align the text to your preference (Left, Center, Right).

  11. Enter a new line and repeat the Steps 5-9.

  12. Once you have created the label, click the Mailings tab then click Update Labels.

  13. Finally, Save the Word document


Product Barcode Labels

You can also add different barcode types when creating labels, the supported values are:

  • Image:EAN

  • Image:EAN_SMALL

  • Image:EAN_CODE128

  • Image:EAN_CODE128_LABEL

  • Image:UPC_CODE128_LABEL

  • Image:UPC

  • Image:SKU

  • Image:PRODUCT_ID

  • Image:EAN_QR

  • Image:UPC_QR

  • Image:SKU_QR

Note: EAN barcodes only work with valid EANs.


Creating a location label document

If you would like to create a location label from scratch, please do the following:

  1. Launch Microsoft Word then click the Mailings tab.

  2. Click Start Mail Merge then click Labels.

  3. Select the label manufacturer from the Label Vendors drop-down.

  4. Select the Product Number then click OK.

  5. Click the Insert tab then click Quick Parts.

  6. Click Field then select MergeField from the Field names drop-down.

  7. In Field Name type the name you require, possible values can be:

    • LocationName

    • Image:LocationName

    • Image:ID

    • Image:NAME_QR

    • Image:ID_QR

    • Image:ID_SMALL

    • Image:NAME_SMALL

  8. Choose (none) as the Format.

  9. Next, click OK.

  10. Align the text to your preference (Left, Center, Right).

  11. Enter a new line and repeat the Steps 5-9.

  12. Once you have created the label, click the Mailings tab then click Update Labels.

  13. Finally, Save the Word document.


Upload template to Mintsoft

Once you have created your label document, the next step is to upload the document:

  1. In Mintsoft, click Settings then click Label / Document Templates.

  2. Click Add New Label Template.

  3. (3PL Only) Select the Client or leave as ALL.

  4. Choose the Type of document you will upload (Product or Location).

  5. Click Choose File and select the template.

  6. Type a name in the Name field.

  7. Click Add.


Issues scanning EAN labels

This issue relates to the size of the barcode and the barcode type being generated. If its 13 characters long, a check digit may then affect the last digit of the barcode or prevent the barcode from generating at all.

To resolve this, you may need to produce another template with a different barcode type to handle the number of characters in the barcode. For example, use CODE128 rather than EAN
