DHL - The Paperless Trade (PLT) image file size of the export documentation is too large

This error (Web Request Error: An XML Error occurred! - Error 1: The Paperless Trade (PLT) image file size of the export documentation is too large. Error 2: IAV3 Image size exceeds max image size configured) from DHL typically occurs when the uploaded document exceeds the 5MB limit or is in an unsupported format (only PDF, JPG, or PNG are accepted).

To resolve this issue, please follow the steps below:

  1. Check the file size and format:

    • Ensure the export documentation does not exceed 5MB.

    • Confirm the file is in PDF, JPG, or PNG format.

  2. Check for unknown characters:

    • If the error persists, review the Product Details and Order Details for any unknown characters (e.g., ๏ฟฝ) and remove them.

  3. Verify DHL integration settings:

    • To disable this setting:

      1. Click Connect then Courier Integrations.

      2. Next, click DHL.

      3. Click Edit against the affected connection.

      4. Turn off Generate Commercial Invoices for International Shipments.

        • This is recommended if you use Paperless Trade (PLT).
