Overview
When picking a multi-item order or picking a bulk batch - by default the system will sort the list of items to pick in Alphanumeric location order. This results in straight lines of picking; however, this may not be desirable or the most efficient way to pick all items depending on your warehouse setup - as it can lead to walking back to the start of the aisle to start picking again.
β
Using pick sequence IDs can overcome this by assigning an ID priority to each location, which can then set up picking in zigzags across aisles or snake patterns around the end of the aisles. The pick sequences are first organised by zone alphabetically and then split by pick sequence per zone.
β
For example -
Zone A will be picked from before Zone B.
The Floor will be picked from before the Mezzanine.

Setting up Pick Sequence IDs
The Pick Sequence ID must be unique for each Zone in your warehouse. We recommend adding Pick Sequence IDs to locations in bulk. To set up a Pick Sequence for your warehouse, please do the following:
Click Warehouse then Manage Warehouses.
Click Locations against the Warehouse you want to update.
Tick and select all locations.
Click Export to CSV - Template Format from the Bulk Actions drop-down.
Then click Go.
Open the downloaded spreadsheet.
Populate the PickSequence column.
If the Pick Sequence for one or more of the locations is 0 these locations will not be included in the picking flow, the Pick Sequence starts at 1.
Do not remove the contents of INTERNAL_LOCATION_ID, doing so will cause duplicate locations.
Once finished, click Save.
Back on Mintsoft, Click Warehouse then Extras.
Next, click Upload Locations.
Choose the Spreadsheet you want to upload.
Finally, click Upload.
