Picking by batch (also known as pick-waves) is the most efficient method of printing, picking and despatching large volumes of orders on Mintsoft.

With this method, you can choose to filter and sort orders in NEW status to be processed in a variety of ways, such as by courier, channel and even product.

Using this method, you can also print courier labels in bulk, change courier in service and despatch orders in bulk instantly with minimal interaction.

Batch Picking - FAQ

Mobile vs. NonMobile

There are two forms of Picking Types for batches. NonMobile Picking and Mobile Picking.

  • NonMobile Picking is the Standard picking type.

  • Mobile Picking is all other picking types.

Bulk Actions Tab

The Bulk Actions tab on the manage batch screen allows you to change the Courier Service for all orders in the batch as well as print order documents.

Warehouse Users must have the AdminEditOrder permission to change the courier service for batches in bulk.

Mobile Tab

To assign a User, Picking Type and Picking Priority for the mobile app, please do the following:

  1. Within the Manage Batch screen, click the Mobile tab to assign a User, Picking Type and Picking Priority.

  2. Once selected, click Assign.

Different Print Batch types

Within the Manage Batch screen, click the dropdown arrow next to Print Batch and this will show you different print types you can use.

  • Print Batch with Integrated Label: This requires you to generate the courier labels first. This option will produce a courier label on the despatch note itself.

  • Print Batch with PDF Courier Label: This requires you to generate the courier labels first. This generally only works well with a 6x4" despatch note template so that both the despatch note and label can be printed on the same printer.

  • Print Batch Picking Summary: This will just print the Picking Summary list

  • Print Batch Order Summary: This will print a summary of the Orders in the batch

  • Print Grouped Picking Summary: This will print a Picking Summary list split by order

  • Print Grouped Picking Summary - Order By OrderNumber: This will print a Picking Summary list sorted by lowest to highest order number

Deleting a Batch

Deleting a batch can only be done before clicking Print Batch, once clicked the batch cannot be deleted. If you wish to delete a batch, please do the following:

  1. Click Picking & Packing then Manage Batches.

  2. Find the batch you wish to delete.

  3. Click Actions then Delete.

Deleting a batch will not delete the orders attached, it will only remove the grouping of the orders allowing them to be grouped again in a different batch.

Setting up Batch Preview

Batch Preview allows you to check the batch contents before you confirm so is useful for error checking.

To enable this, please do the following:

  1. Click Settings then User settings.

  2. Click the Picking Defaults tab.

  3. Then turn ON - Enable Batch Preview Before Creation.

  4. Finally, click Save.

If you have preview enabled, a screen will appear showing batch contents where you can give the batch a reference and then click Create.
