The following information requires the Cartons and Pallets module to be active on your account. Without this module, you are unable to add the GS1/ SSCC information.

Mintsoft offers limited SSCC label functionality, we can only read the SSCC identifier barcode.

Mintsoft cannot read and split out the additional data such as batch/best before dates provided in full SSCC barcode labels. a full GS1 SSCC label generally has at least two barcodes on and potentially more.

SSCC barcodes can be used on Mintsoft in the following ways:

  • If the SSCC ID is supplied on the ASN prior to receipt, then a single scan of this SSCC ID will fully receive the associated product line(s) with a single scan.

  • If the SSCC is not supplied prior to receipt on the ASN, you can still use the SSCC ID as our internal pallet ID to track the pallet of goods through the warehouse. With this approach you would need to scan the product first instead and then select option to create new pallet and then choose to scan the SSCC as our pallet ID.

The first barcode is the SSCC identifier which we can add to our ASNS. Additional barcode(s) typically includes 3 or 4 pieces of information in one string:

  • Item Barcode (EAN or UPC Number).

  • Batch Number.

  • Expiry Date.

  • Serial number.

  • Quantity.

Mintsoft doesn't support the scan of this additional data.

For more information on GS1 barcodes, please review the GS1 Barcode Basics page.

GS1 Barcode overview -

The GS1 Barcode shown in the image above has 3 indicator prefixes:

  • (01) = GTIN (our product barcode ref - EAN/UPC).

  • (17) = Best Before Date.

  • (3103) = Net Weight.

The table displayed in the image shows how many possible combinations there can be in a GS1 barcode. If you have a GS1 account and wish to use SSCC numbers, you can now set this up for you and your clients. To set up SSCC on Mintsoft please do the following:

  1. Click Clients then Overview.

  2. Find the client you want to set up.

  3. Click Actions then Edit.

  4. Then click the SSCC Config tab.

You will then be asked to input your GS1 information, which will be used to generate SSCC numbers for shipments.
