DPD and DPD Local Integration

Written by Tom Higgs

To print DPD or DPD Local labels, you must use the Courier Printing Tool as they don't provide a PDF document via their API.

If you encounter issues with label printing, ensure that the Courier Printing Tool is correctly configured and operational. Refer to the troubleshooting section for common errors and their resolutions.

Adding a DPD connection

To set up a connection with DPD/ DPD Local, please do the following:

  1. Click Connect then Courier Integrations.

  2. Click DPD or DPD Local then click Add Account.

  3. (3PL Only) Select the Client.

  4. Set the Warehouse.

  5. Set a Channel, this can be set to ALL or a specific one.

  6. Set the Type:

    • DPD.

    • DPD Local.

    • Note: Ensure the correct account type is selected. For example, DPD Local accounts should use 'INTERLINK' as the type.

  7. Set the Label Type.

  8. Enter the Account Number, Username and Password from DPD.

    • Note: There are some special characters which DPD's API cannot handle within your password such as "!". If the connection says "Unauthorized," verify that the API username and password are correct and active. Ensure you are using API credentials, which may differ from portal login credentials. If in doubt, request DPD to reset the password or generate new API credentials, then update them in Mintsoft.

  9. (Optional) Enable Consolidate.

    • This allows for merging consignments if you create another shipment to the same address.

  10. Click Add.

Made a mistake or need to update?

  1. Click Connect then Courier Integrations.

  2. Click DPD or DPD Local then click Edit against the connection.

  3. Make any necessary changes then click Update to save.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Unable to Find DPD Account Error

This error occurs when the account type does not match the courier name. To resolve:

  1. On the Scan Actions page, check the courier name listed above the Create Shipment button:

    • If the courier name is GEOPOST_INTERLINK, the account type should be Interlink.

    • If the courier name is GEOPOST_DPD, the account type should be DPD.

  2. Navigate to Connect then Courier Integrations next DPD.

  3. Edit the affected connection and update the account type.

  4. Ensure the "Warehouse" field is correctly populated or set to ALL.

  5. Save the changes and retry generating the shipment.

Missing UKIMS Number for Northern Ireland Shipments

Under the Windsor Framework Agreement, a UKIMS number is required for shipments to Northern Ireland. To resolve:

  1. Verify the EORI number on the order is correct and valid.

  2. Check if the UKIMS number has been provided. If missing, add it by navigating to Clients then Actions next Edit finally Customs Information in Mintsoft.

  3. Retry generating the shipment.

Service Code Mismatch

If a service denied error occurs due to a mismatch between DPD Local and DPD codes:

  1. Go to Shipping Management then Extras next Courier Service Codes.

  2. Search for the current code (e.g., 1^19).

  3. Edit the entry with DT1 in ExtraCode3.

  4. Update the code to the correct one for your account (e.g., 2^19 for DPD Local) and save.

Persistent Issues

If issues persist despite verifying credentials and account settings:

  1. Contact your DPD account manager to confirm the account details and check for any issues on their side.

  2. If the problem continues, reach out to Mintsoft support for further investigation.
