The Batch Suggester module increases warehouse efficiency by automatically identifying orders that contain exactly the same products with the same quantities, then suggesting they be batched together. You can set filters to control which orders are considered and specify how many matching orders are needed before a suggestion is made. This is a paid module, please discuss this with your Account Manager to learn more.
Order eligibility requirements
The Batch Suggester only considers orders that meet all of the following criteria:
Order status is New.
Order is not already assigned to another batch.
Order has a courier service selected.
Orders match your client and warehouse access permissions.
If no suggestions appear, verify your orders meet these requirements.
Note: Results are automatically filtered based on your user account's client and warehouse access permissions. You will only see suggestions for orders you have permission to view.
Enable access to Batch Suggester
If you cannot see the Batch Suggester option within the Picking & Packing menu, please ensure the following:
The Batch Suggester module is enabled for your account. This is a paid module, so contact your Account Manager if not enabled.
Your user has the correct role assigned by following these steps:
Click Settings then Warehouse User Accounts.
Find the affected user.
Click Actions then Manage Roles.
Tick the Module-BatchSuggester role group.
Ensure the AdminBatchSuggester role is assigned.
Click Update.
Generate batch suggestions
To generate batch suggestions in Mintsoft, follow these steps:
Click Picking & Packing then Batch Suggester.
Set the Minimum Number Of Products (the minimum number of distinct SKUs that each order must contain). Default: 1
Set the Minimum Batch Size (the minimum number of matching orders required to generate a suggestion). Default: 5
Optionally filter by Courier (carrier level, not service level).
Note: Only orders with a courier service assigned are considered, even when set to ALL.
Click Suggest.
How matching works: Orders are grouped only when they contain exactly the same products with exactly the same quantities. For example:
✓ Five orders each containing SKU-A (qty 1) and SKU-B (qty 2) will be suggested together
✗ Orders with partial overlaps such as one has SKU-A only and another has SKU-A and SKU-B will not be grouped
The system uses VirtualOrderItems for comparison, meaning bundle products are expanded into their component items before matching.
Review suggestions and create batches
You will then be displayed with a results table showing suggested batches, sorted by the number of matching orders, with the highest first. Each row shows:
Number Of Orders: How many orders match this pattern
Client: The client name, if all orders are from the same client
Items: A detailed list showing SKU, Name, Quantity and product image for each item in the pattern
For each suggested batch, you can enter a batch reference and click Create. This will create a single batch containing all orders in that suggestion row. You cannot select individual orders from within a suggestion.
Important: During batch creation, some orders may be automatically excluded if they have changed status from New, have been added to another batch, belong to a client marked as OnStop, or no longer have a courier service assigned. You will receive a message listing any excluded orders.
After clicking Create, you will be redirected to the Manage Batch screen where you can:
Review all orders included in the batch.
Generate shipping labels.
Assign picking types such as Standard, Bulk or Multi-Tote.
Assign the batch to a warehouse user.
Print batch picking notes.
The batch is now ready for picking operations.
