Set up courier parcel quantity rules

To create a courier parcel quantity rule:

  1. Click Shipping Management then Extras.

  2. Click Courier Parcel Quantity.

  3. Select either the Courier (applies to every service) or the Courier Service (applies only to that service).

  4. (3PL only) Select the Client.

  5. Enter the MinWeight.

  6. Enter the MaxWeight.

  7. Enter the ParcelQuantity.

  8. Click Add.

Continue adding rules until you have a grid for the desired weight range.

Note: You cannot add courier parcel quantities in bulk; they must be added manually.

To complete the setup, you also need to configure Units per parcel and Additional parcels per product.

Units per parcel

Units per parcel defines the total number of units that can fit in a parcel per SKU.

Example

  • SKU A - Units per parcel: 2.

  • SKU B - Units per parcel: 5.

Order 1 contains:

  • SKU A - Quantity: 4 (requires 2 parcels as it exceeds the units per parcel limit).

  • SKU B - Quantity: 3 (requires 1 parcel as it's within the units per parcel limit).

  • Total parcels: 3.

Add units per parcel manually

  1. Click Products then Overview.

  2. Search for the product.

  3. Click Actions then Edit.

  4. Click the Extra Details tab.

  5. Enter a value into Units Per Parcel.

  6. Click Save.

Add units per parcel in bulk

  2. Click Upload Products.

  3. Click Download Template.

  4. Fill in the SKU and UnitsPerParcel columns for the required products (only these two fields are required).

  5. Save the spreadsheet.

  6. On the Upload Product Spreadsheet page, click Choose file.

  7. Browse and select the saved file.

  8. (3PL only) Select the Client.

  9. Click Upload.

Additional parcels per product

This method assumes items with additional parcel quantities set cannot be packed together with other SKUs. Use this for items that cannot be packed together on an order or items containing multiple pieces (such as pre-packed, fragile, or large items).

Example

  • SKU A - Additional parcels per product: 1.

  • SKU B - Additional parcels per product: 2.

  • SKU C - Additional parcels per product: 0.

Order 1 contains:

  • SKU A - Quantity: 10 (requires 10 parcels).

  • SKU B - Quantity: 3 (requires 6 parcels).

  • SKU C - Quantity: 1 (requires 1 parcel).

  • Total parcels: 17.

The system calculates a single parcel for SKU C because it assumes it cannot be packed with other SKUs. If multiple SKUs don't have an additional parcels per product value set, the system calculates a single parcel for all remaining SKUs.

  2. Search for the product.

  3. Click Actions then Edit.
