Le Chat can generate text and images, but it can also reason through complex problems.
Think mode lets you see le Chat’s thought process step by step, similar to how you’d weigh pros and cons when making a decision.
Why use Think mode?
Think mode is useful when you need more than a quick answer. It helps you with questions that require multiple steps, showing you how le Chat reaches a conclusion.
🔑 You give up a bit of speed for accuracy and clarity. Think mode still responds quickly though, and it’s even faster with Flash Answers 🔎 enabled.
Think mode is especially helpful for:
Planning projects
Making strategic decisions
Solving complex problems
Debugging code
Math and logic puzzles
Any task that benefits from a structured approach

Example: planning a business trip
Imagine you need to travel from London to Paris for a client meeting. Should you take the train, fly, or combine both?
Ask le Chat to reason through the options for you:
Asking le Chat to reason about the best way to travel from London to Paris
With Think mode enabled, le Chat shows its step-by-step reasoning, comparing travel time, cost, convenience, and environmental impact.
The reasoning process, displayed step by step
🔑 The reasoning is displayed clearly and transparently. You see the full chain of thought, not just the final answer.
At the end, le Chat provides a structured recommendation. In this case, it suggests taking the Eurostar train instead of flying.
Le Chat’s final recommendation: take the train
To Think or not to Think
Not every question requires reasoning. If you only need a quick answer, click the Think
button again to turn it off.
📌 Your conversation stays in Think mode until you turn it off, even if you start a new chat.
We encourage you to try Think mode and observe how le Chat reasons. It’s a great way to get more accurate and detailed answers.
