The gray screen is normal for devices that are iPhone X's and older.  MixCam operates perfectly fine and you can test this by taking a photo.  MixCam will capture a photo with one camera then immediately capture another photo with the second camera creating a single image with two photos.  You can control which photo is taken first (front or rear camera) by selecting the arrow button on the bottom right corner.

You can also capture photos with the fun Group Photo mode.  Use this mode so no one is left out of the group moment again.  📸

Due to device limitation, using front and back simultaneously is a feature only supported on the following devices:

Xr
Xs
XsMax
iPhone 11 and above
