After you learn how to create an SRT file, there are three ways you can import it into MixCaptions.

There are 3 ways you can import SRT files into MixCaptions.

  1. AirDrop

  2. Email

  3. Load from Apple Files app

Before importing the SRT file, you must arrive to the "captions" screen within MixCaptions

  • Load your video into MixCaptions

  • Trim your video or accept the video as is

  • Click Captions (bottom left on menu)

  • When you see the prompt to "generate captions", select cancel and your screen should look like this:

AIRDROP:

While on the captions screen you can AirDrop your SRT file from your MacBook or from another iOS device. Once you AirDrop the file, the captions will automatically load into the video.

EMAIL:

While on the captions screen, open your email containing the SRT file and tap on the SRT file. Select the MixCaptions app. Once selected, the captions will automatically load into the video.

FILES APP:

If your SRT file is saved in the files app, tap on the SRT button on the bottom menu of the captions screen. Search for the SRT file, tap on the file and the captions will automatically load into the video.
