Here are a few tips on how to scan your pages.
Make sure your book or document is as flat as possible.
Be aware of lightning. Scanning pages is like taking a photo, shadows will appear in the scan.
You have the option to scan one or two pages at a time. Just like in the video above (time code 0:10 seconds), we strongly recommend you scan two pages at a time and here is why:
Most stories have image (and sometimes text) continuity that spans across the two pages. This will make the reading experience much better rather than having to flip back and forth.
Scanning two pages will set the pages to landscape which is the optimal viewing orientation when viewed on an iPhone or iPad.
It will speed up your process since you can scan twice as many pages
Cropping your scan. Reading Roo will automatically detect the closest edge of the pages but it may capture things you may not want into the final scan. You can tap on the scan and adjust the corners so you have nice clean edges. See time code 0:14 in the video for example.
If you've saved your project or reached your scan limit (you can scan up to 24 pages per scan session) and need to add pages. You can absolutely do this in the editing menu. Please refer to this article on how to add pages to a saved project.
