iPhone lock screen customization is back on iOS 17 and it couldn’t be any easier to create. Follow these few simple steps to set a video as a live wallpaper on iOS 17 you can share to your lock screen and enjoy every time you pick up your phone.

CREATE A LIVE WALLPAPER:

Step 1: Load a video into the Video Wallpaper app

Step 2: Trim the video and select the scene you want to feature

Step 3: Save your wallpaper

PRO TIP (For an optimal motion effect):

-Ensure your subject in the selected video clip performs motion.

-Photo slideshow videos and slow motion videos may not function properly

For further customization, you can adjust the size of the video, change the placement, add a fun background

SET LIVE WALLPAPER TO LOCK SCREEN:

Once you’ve created your Live Wallpaper, there are two options to share it to your lock screen. You can do this from the iOS Settings App or from the Photos App.

Please note, you may encounter the following error message when setting your wallpaper.

If so, please tap Cancel and try setting it again. If the second try fails, please try creating a new live wallpaper with another section of the video in the Video Wallpaper app.

IOS SETTINGS APP:

Step 1: Open the settings and select Wallpaper

Step 2: Tap “Add New Wallpaper”

Step 3: Tap the “Photos” option

Step 4: Tap “All” and select the Live Wallpaper you created

Step 5: Tap the motion button and then select “Add”

PHOTOS APP:

Step 1: Open the Photos app and open the live wallpaper you want to add. Tap on the share icon

Step 2: Tap the “Use as Wallpaper” option

Step 3: Tap the motion button and tap “Add”
