Connect HubSpot

Sync HubSpot contact lists to MNTN for targeting and exclusions, then enable attribution to send MNTN ad exposure data back to HubSpot.

Overview

MNTN’s HubSpot integration lets you connect your HubSpot contact lists to MNTN and use them in two ways:

  1. Sync HubSpot lists into MNTN for audience targeting and exclusions.
Use your HubSpot contact lists as CRM audiences in MNTN campaigns without manual uploads.

  2. Send MNTN ad exposure data back to HubSpot for attribution.
When HubSpot attribution is enabled for a synced list, MNTN matches existing HubSpot contacts to MNTN ad impressions and sends impression details back to HubSpot as notes on the contact record.

This helps you activate HubSpot audiences in MNTN and understand how MNTN ad exposure supports downstream lead and sales activity in HubSpot.

Shared data

The HubSpot integration supports two data flows:

HubSpot Lists to MNTN

MNTN syncs your HubSpot contact lists into MNTN automatically. Once synced, these lists populate as CRM audiences that can be used for campaign targeting or exclusion.

MNTN Impression Data to HubSpot

Only lists with HubSpot Attribution enabled send MNTN ad impression data back to HubSpot, where it’s matched to your contacts. This lets you see which leads were influenced by MNTN directly in HubSpot.

MNTN Touchpoint Note on Contact Record

MNTN sends the following impression details to HubSpot:

  • Ad Type

  • Campaign Name

  • Creative Name

  • Impression Timestamp

Before You Begin

To use this integration, you need:

  • An active HubSpot account

  • If you want to:

    • sync HubSpot lists into MNTN, you'll need Admin access in HubSpot.

    • send MNTN ad exposure data back to HubSpot for attribution, you'll need Super Admin access in HubSpot.

  • At least one HubSpot contact list to sync

Only HubSpot lists with OBJECT = Contact are available for syncing

⚠️ Warning: HubSpot attribution can only match MNTN ad impressions to contacts that already exist in HubSpot. It doesn't create new HubSpot contacts from MNTN ad impressions.

A HubSpot account can only be connected to one MNTN account at a time. If the HubSpot account is already connected to another MNTN account, the connection will fail.

Set It Up

  1. Sign in to your MNTN account.

  2. From the account dropdown in the top right, select My Account.

  3. In the left navigation pane under MY ACCOUNT, click Integrations.

  4. Find HubSpot, then click Connect.

The Connect to HubSpot modal opens.

  5. Choose whether to keep HubSpot attribution enabled.

    • Enable HubSpot Attribution is selected by default. Keep this if you want MNTN to send impression data back to HubSpot for matching contacts.

    • Uncheck it if you don't.

  6. Click Connect.

You're temporarily redirected to HubSpot to authorize the connection.

  7. In HubSpot, follow the onscreen prompts to connect the app.

You're redirected back to the HubSpot list picker in MNTN.

  8. In MNTN, select the HubSpot lists you want to sync.

    You can:

    • Search across all your HubSpot contact lists

    • View list size and last updated date

    • Select one, multiple, or all lists

    • Use pagination or search to find specific lists

  9. Click Save.

You'll receive notification your data from HubSpot is syncing.

📝 Note: Your HubSpot lists may take up to 24 hours to finish syncing to MNTN. After the initial sync, lists update automatically once per day. No manual refresh or re-upload is required.

Manage Synced HubSpot Lists

You can edit, add, or remove synced HubSpot lists at any time.

To manage your synced lists:

  1. In MNTN, from the account dropdown in the top right, select My Account.

  2. In the left navigation pane under MY ACCOUNT, click Integrations.

  3. Find HubSpot, then click Manage.

  4. Update your selected lists.

  5. Click Save.

Enable HubSpot Attribution for a List

To send MNTN impression data back to HubSpot, you must enable HubSpot attribution for each list you want to measure.

To enable HubSpot attribution:

  1. In MNTN, click on the AUDIENCES tab.

  2. Click on the Segments sub-tab and select CRM.

To filter results, click Source in the top left and check the HubSpot box.

📝 Note: The Type column dictates how the list is used. All HubSpot lists automatically populate as CRM audiences, which can be used for targeting and exclusion in campaigns, depending on your campaign strategy.

In Retargeting Campaigns, CRM audiences can only be used for exclusion, not targeting. For full details on how CRM audiences behave across campaign strategies, see Source Audiences with CRM.

  3. Find the list you want to use for attribution.

  4. Toggle the HubSpot Attribution ON.

    MNTN impression data:

    • will start to populate in HubSpot the following morning.

    • appears in HubSpot from the mntn_saw_ad segment as notes on matching contact records.

Disconnect HubSpot

Disconnecting the integration stops future syncing.

To disconnect:

  1. In MNTN, from the account dropdown in the top right, select My Account.

  2. In the left navigation pane under MY ACCOUNT, click Integrations.

  3. Find HubSpot, then click Manage.

  4. In the bottom left, click Disconnect HubSpot.

  5. Click Disconnect.

Quick Answers

Can I sync multiple HubSpot lists to MNTN?

Yes. You can sync multiple HubSpot contact lists to MNTN.

If a contact is deleted in HubSpot, are they removed from MNTN?

Yes. HubSpot lists sync with MNTN automatically, so if a contact is removed from a synced HubSpot list, they’re also removed from the corresponding MNTN CRM audience during the next sync. Once removed, that contact is no longer eligible for any targeting or exclusions using that synced list.

Next Steps

After you enable HubSpot attribution, you can review MNTN ad exposure data in HubSpot from the mntn_saw_ad segment and individual HubSpot contact records.
