Creative Guidelines

Adult Content

Please ensure that the content in your ads and landing pages is appropriate for all ages.

Any adult content, including pornographic or highly suggestive content, the promotion of adult products, including sex toys and sexual enhancers, and the promotion of adult-themed dating, escort services, "mail-order brides," or similar services.

Drugs and Tobacco

Your ads should not include nor promote the use of recreational drugs, tobacco, nicotine, or drug paraphernalia.

This includes:

❌ Cigarettes

❌ Cigars

❌ Chewing Tobacco

❌ Marijuana

❌ Hookah

❌ Vaporized Tobacco

❌ Electronic Cigarettes

❌ Nicotine Pouches

Body Images

Aligned with our policy on adult content, sexualized content will not be approved.

Please avoid nudity (implied or explicit), unnecessary skin exposure, cleavage, or other tactics designed to solicit a sexual response.

Brand Notification

Users should clearly understand where they will go when they click on your ad.

In accordance with this policy, we require that the brand shown on the ad match the brand of the destination landing page.

Shock Value

Do not use images that are visually disturbing, gory, or designed to shock or scare an audience.

Spam Tactics

Tactics designed to mislead a visitor are strictly prohibited. We cannot approve ads that:

❌ Imitate computer functions such as system messages, progress bars, or virus warnings.

❌ Mimic the function of other types of media, such as appearing to be an embedded video.

❌ Initiate prompts to download files or software after the click.

Personally Targeted Messaging

Due to the highly targeted nature of retargeting, we need to be especially sensitive to user privacy.

Be careful with this if your website focuses on products or services for a specific audience.

Even if your website meets our content requirements, targeted messaging that implies knowledge of an individual’s personal circumstances (see Special Interests) will not be approved.

Avoiding the pronoun “you” is a very good first step.

Violence and Weapons

Your ads should not promote weapons, ammunition, explosive materials, and fireworks, or the incitement to, threats of, or acts of violence against any individual or group, and the depiction and glorification of violence against all humans and animals.

Alcohol

We cannot approve any ads that depict or promote underage and/or excessive alcohol consumption.

Spy Cams and Surveillance Equipment

Your ads should not promote the sale of spy cams, mobile phone trackers, or other surveillance equipment hidden in products such as pens, keys, etc.

This excludes any promotion of private detective services.

Fake Documents

Your ads should not contain or promote fake documents such as degrees, passports, immigration papers, etc.

Inflammatory or Derogatory Personal, Political and Religious Content

Your ads should not express hatred or intent of violence against any individual or group, particularly surrounding the race, sex, creed, national origin, religious affiliation, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or language of that individual or group.

We advocate freedom of political speech. However, we do not tolerate derogatory language for political purposes, as this leads to highly negative feedback from people.

Penny Auctions

Your ads should not promote penny auctions, bidding fee auctions, and other similar business models.

Illegal Content

Ads containing Illegal content, including the sale and promotion of counterfeit goods, the promotion of illicit or harmful activity, and the promotion of activity that infringes the rights of others, including libel or defamation, and any other misleading or deceptive promotion will not be approved.

Content for Children

The promotion of websites that specifically target children under the age required for consent to the collection of personal information, as defined by applicable law, will not be approved.

U.S. Sub-Regional Enforcement Guidelines

1️⃣ Advertisers must target both the country and the sub-region they are approved for. For example, advertisers who would like to target New York must target the US and NY.

2️⃣ Advertisers must target approved sub-regions which is different from implied targeting of approved sub-regions. For example, if an advertiser targets the US and the 45 states they are approved for, then their ad will be suitable for RMG.

However, if they target the US and exclude the 5 states they are not approved for (technically targets the same states) their ads will be disapproved.

3️⃣ Advertisers using Custom Audiences to target a set of people must also target the country and sub-region that the ad account is eligible to target. e.g.

If your client targets a Custom Audience composed entirely of US-NY residents and doesn't also target US (country) and NY (state), the ad will be rejected.

Politics

We advocate freedom of political speech, however, we do not support the nature of influencing a political decision or stance. This includes promoting or disparaging content toward political figures, policies, and laws.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your MNTN support team.

Cryptocurrency
