Block TV Networks

Control where your ads appear by excluding specific streaming networks from your campaigns.

Updated today

Overview

MNTN prioritizes brand safety by serving your ads exclusively on Living Room Quality Inventory — a specially curated list of high-quality, trusted TV networks. That gives you a strong foundation, but we recognize you may have unique preferences about which streaming channels are the right fit for your brand and audience.

The TV Network Blocklist is a flexible tool that gives you greater control over where your ads appear by preventing them from being served on specific networks. You can apply blocks for your account as a whole or tailor them to individual campaigns. This article covers account-level TV network blocks. To block TV Networks for a specific campaign, see Adjust Advanced Settings.

⚠️ Warning: Constraining audiences through blocklists limits our ability to reach users wherever they’re watching CTV, which can impact reach and performance.

We recommend reaching out to your MNTN Account team to discuss impacts to reach and performance that may come from your blocklists.

Block TV Networks at the Account Level

Account-level blocks apply automatically to all live campaigns and cannot be removed at the campaign level. They display as "Global" in your campaign's Advanced Settings.

To do this:

  1. Sign in to MNTN.

  2. On the upper-right hand corner, click your account menu.

  3. Select My Account.

  4. Select Exclusions.

  5. Select TV Network Blocklist.

  6. Search for the Network you wish to block.

  7. Under the network, click the toggle to Blocked.

Your campaign will no longer serve ads on those networks.

Understand Account (Global) & Campaign Settings

Any TV Network blocks set at the Account level will apply automatically to all live campaigns, and cannot be removed from the campaign setting (noted as a "Global" setting).

Any additional Campaign blocks will be in addition to the networks that are "Blocked in Global Settings."

📘 Example: In this example, ACC Network, Adult Swim, and A&E are blocked in Global Settings (account-level), while ABC & ABC Local News are blocked for this campaign only.
