What is a Portfolio?

A MNTN Portfolio is a flexible way to manage your advertiser accounts and assign the necessary roles and permissions to team members to access their associated accounts.

Portfolios are typically used by Agencies and Parent Companies that have several advertisers running on MNTN's platform. Those advertiser accounts can be grouped together in our system as a "Portfolio," which allows Portfolio Admins single login access to all of the Portfolio's advertiser accounts.

Defining User Roles

You can create users with different user roles within your Portfolio. Each role will have different permissions within the platform and in some cases, access to different advertisers.

What is a Portfolio Admin?

A MNTN Portfolio Admin has more capabilities than an account "user." A Portfolio Admin admin can:

  • Create other Portfolio admins

  • Create accounts for their Portfolios

  • See accounts in their assigned Portfolios

  • Invite users and assign them to their Portfolio and advertisers

  • Update each account's billing information

What is a User?

An account user has fewer capabilities than the Portfolio's Admin. Users can:

  • Access the account they are assigned to

  • Will not have visibility into the accounts they are not assigned to within a Portfolio

  • Cannot update the billing information on the account

  • Access to all other features within their assigned account, outside of billing and Portfolio management.

Managing your MNTN Portfolio

On the Portfolios & Advertisers page, you can manage Portfolio Information, create or deactivate Portfolios, and assign advertisers & users to Portfolios.

Click the 'Manage' button to view your Portfolio Information, edit your Portfolio name and notes, assign or remove Advertisers, Assign or Remove Users, and Deactive your Portfolio.

Creating Portfolios and Assigning Advertisers & Users

To create a new Portfolio to Group your advertisers together to manage users and access, follow the steps below.

1️⃣ Click the '+ New Portfolio' button on the Portfolios & Advertisers page. Click "Next" when you're finished.

You'll see a pop-up called "New Portfolio," where you can enter your Portfolio name and add any notes you want to include.

2️⃣ Assign Advertisers to your new Portfolio. Click "Next" when you're finished.

You will only have access to add advertisers to your new Portfolio that you already have assigned access to. Advertisers are individual MNTN accounts that have their own set of campaigns.

3️⃣ Assign Users to your new Portfolio. Click "Next" when you're finished.

All Users on this step will have a "Portfolio Admin" role since Users do not have access to Portfolios but rather individual Advertisers within the Portfolio. If you would like a User to have access to a Portfolio, you will need to upgrade their access and assignments within the "Users & Permissions" tab.

4️⃣ Review your New Portfolio Summary, including the Portfolio Name, Assigned Advertisers, and Assigned Users. Click "Add New Portfolio" to save your Portfolio.

You can click on the pencil icons to edit any information or assignment within the Summary before saving your Portfolio.

Deactivating Your Portfolio

To deactivate your Portfolio, go to the main 'Portfolios & Advertisers' page. Click the "Manage" button next to your Portfolio field, and click "Deactivate" on the 'Edit Portfolio' window. You'll be prompted with a confirmation message before completing your Deactivation. Once you deactivate, the portfolio will be deleted, and all user assignments will be lost.
