Two Factor Authentication (2FA) is available to you in our MNTN platform as an additional security measure upon login through two methods: SMS Text and Authenticator Applications (i.e.; Google authenticator, Microsoft authenticator, LastPass authenticator, etc).

Once an authentication method has been set-up, you will be prompted to enter an additional authentication code when logging into the MNTN platform.

In this article, we will go over the below:

Manage up 2FA on Advertiser Accounts

As a default, all advertisers will have 2FA enabled as optional. If you require 2FA for your advertiser account, a hotel admin may set the 2FA flag to ‘required’ in your 'Portfolios & Advertisers' tab under 'My Account.'

1️⃣ Click on the 'Advertiser' Tab within your 'Portfolios & Advertisers' page

2️⃣ Use the search bar to find the correct Advertiser account to toggle on a Two Factor Authentication Requirement. Click the 'Manage' button next to the Advertiser.

3️⃣ This will open up the 'Edit Advertiser' box. Click on the Pencil icon next to the "Advertiser" field to open up the Advertiser Settings

4️⃣ Under the 'Security' Section, chose your Two-Factor Authentication selection, and click 'Update Advertiser' to save. This will require 2FA for all users within this Advertiser when accessing this advertiser account.

Initial 2FA Set-Up

With 2FA, you will be presented with two options for authentication when logging in: Set-up SMS Text or Set-up Authenticator (via an authentication app).

During the initial set-up, once you have entered their MNTN credentials, you will then be prompted to select your authentication option of choice. Only one option is necessary.

As an example, if you select the option to Use An Authenticator app during the login process, you will be provided an option to set-up your 2FA with authenticator

You can complete the setup by using the QR code to access authenticator apps, set up the app, and receive a code to enter in the 2FA login screen.

Once you enter the code and select ‘verify,’ you will be notified that you have successfully enabled 2FA.

Manage 2FA for your User Profile

You can enable, reset, or edit your 2FA authentication options via My Account > General > User Information.

If you enable a new authentication method, you will be taken through the 2FA setup directly on the My Account page.

Once all authentication methods are enabled, you will receive a prompt to enter your authentication code the next time you login to MNTN.

Two Factor Authentication: Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I work with multiple advertisers?

  • There is specific logic in place for users that belong to multiple advertisers: If a user is assigned to a hotel where one advertiser has 2FA set to ‘required’, then the user will be required to complete the authentication steps during the login.

What happens if I input the wrong authentication code?

  • You can simply delete numbers by using the delete or backspace key.

What if I get locked out of my phone, change phone numbers, or cannot access my authenticator app?

  • 2FA options can be reset within My Account. Should a user be locked out of their phone, no longer have the phone number associated with their account or have encountered issues accessing their authenticator app, Hotel Admins have the ability to reset the users 2FA options via My Account > My Admin > Users > Edit Users. By selecting ‘reset’, the user will be taken through the 2FA prompts again and can reselect their authentication methods and make necessary updates to the authenticator app or associated number for SMS Text authentication.
