The thumbnail is the preview image that appears before a video plays. Moast automatically generates a thumbnail for each video, but you can customize it to show a more compelling frame or upload your own image.
Automatic Thumbnails
When you upload a video, Moast automatically creates a thumbnail. For product videos uploaded to Shopify, Moast generates the thumbnail from the first frame of your video, ensuring a high-quality preview that accurately represents your content.
Changing a Video Thumbnail
Go to Media in your Moast dashboard
Find the video you want to edit
Click the three dots menu on the video
Select Edit
Scroll to the Thumbnail section
Click Change Thumbnail
Choose one of the following options:
Select from video: Scrub through the video timeline and pick a frame
Upload image: Upload a custom thumbnail image (JPG or PNG)
Click Save
Thumbnail Best Practices
Choose a clear, visually appealing frame that represents the video content
Avoid blurry frames or frames with motion blur
For product videos, show the product clearly
Consider adding text overlays to custom thumbnails to highlight key messages
Test different thumbnails to see which drives more clicks
π Tip: If you're uploading a custom thumbnail, use an image that's at least 1280x720 pixels for the best quality across all devices.
Updating Multiple Thumbnails
If you need to update thumbnails for multiple videos, you'll need to edit each video individually. There's currently no bulk thumbnail update feature.
βΉοΈ Thumbnail changes apply immediately to all widgets displaying that video. You don't need to republish your widgets.
