Understanding CPA Conversion Flow Types
The action required for an advertiser to count a conversion can vary depending on their objectives. These are known as conversion flows or billing flows and can range from CPL, SOI, DOI, CPS, CPL, CPI, CPR, CC submit, Direct Billing: 1-Click, 2-Click Flows, SMS, PIN, and others.
CPL, SOI, DOI, CPS, CPL, CPI and CPR
CPL stands for cost per lead which means the advertiser pays when a user performs an action such as signing up for a newsletter or an email alert.
SOI stands for single opt-in which requires only a confirmed email to be obtained in order to count as a conversion.
DOI stands for double opt-in, which requires an email confirmation to be obtained in order to count as a conversion.
CPS stands for cost per sale which means the advertiser pays when the user purchases a product.
CPL stands for cost per lead which requires the user to do a specific action such as signing up for a newsletter.
CPI stands for cost per install, which is used for applications or services.
CPR stands for cost per registration, which requires the user to go through a complete registration process.
Direct Billing: 1-Click and 2-Click Flows, SMS, and PIN
Direct billing: 1-click flows require a user to do only one action in order to count as a conversion. This could be an email, phone, or credit card verification. 2-Click flows require two actions to complete a conversion. SMS and PIN mean the users must enter a code sent to them via SMS or an operator PIN code to confirm the transaction.
