We recently implemented an important update that requires all MobileServe users under 13 years old to go through a new process for Consent.  This is a one-time requirement that ensures our compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA), as we continue to grow our user base.

If you're younger than 13, accessing your account will require parental consent.

Here's what that process looks like:

- If a user enters their DOB and they're under age 13, they'll receive a message indicating we require parental consent.

- The user can enter the name and email address of a parent / guardian which triggers an email requesting their consent.

- The user’s account will be locked until consent is received.

- The parent / guardian will receive an email with the user’s details and a copy of MobileServe’s terms & conditions. The parent / guardian will need to answer a couple questions to ensure that they are an adult and have the authority to provide the user permission. These questions run through a Federally regulated platform called ChildGuard. MobileServe does not store or have visibility into any of the guardian personal identification information.

- After providing consent, the parent / guardian will receive a confirmation email with the user’s login information.

  • The user's DOB is stored in their Account Settings, and if the user changes their password or email address, the parent / guardian will receive an email alert with the new login information.
