Mobius Conveyor QR is companion software to our mobile application, Mobius Conveyor. Mobius Conveyor QR is used to transfer speech-to-text results from a healthcare provider's phone or tablet to their desktop or laptop computer.

Mobius Conveyor QR "types" for the user and, to accomplish this, requires a connection with our cloud service to receive data from the provider's mobile device.

Sometimes, network or software configurations prevent Mobius Conveyor QR from communicating with our servers. To help troubleshoot why this might be occurring, here are the protocols, ports, and services required by the software:

Port 443 is used for all required communications.
โ€‹TLS (1.2) and Websocket protocols are utilized.
(https://websocketstest.com/ can test your computer for Websocket compatibility)

Access to the following three hosts is required:

โ€‹qflevva2tjdjbaitmd3rcgho5e.appsync-realtime-api.us-east-1.amazonaws.com

qflevva2tjdjbaitmd3rcgho5e.appsync-api.us-east-1.amazonaws.com

cognito-identity.us-east-1.amazonaws.com

The most common reasons that a "Network Error" message is displayed by the software upon launch are:

  1. Firewall Rules - Some firewall software, including Avast, AVG, ZoneAlarm, and BitDefender, blocks WebSockets, by default. Ensure that Mobius Conveyor QR is listed in your software firewall's whitelist and that WebSockets are allowed. There may also be a firewall appliance (device) on the network that is blocking the Websocket protocol.

  2. Antivirus Rules - Some Antivirus products aggressively block new software after installation. Ensure that Mobius Conveyor QR appears in your Antivirus software's allow list.

  3. DNS Issues - Occasionally, individual computers on a network are unable to connect with our servers, despite similar settings and configurations compared to computers on the same network that connect without issue. We have seen (manufactuer) installed-by-default software intercept DNS requests (particularly on Acer-branded machines) and prevent software like ours from communicating with the internet. Look through your installed software list to see if any 3rd-party software could be at fault.

  4. Time/Clock Mismatch - If the computer running Conveyor QR is set to the wrong time (for example, a.m. instead of p.m., or with an incorrect timezone), a secure connection can not be established. Please ensure the correct time is set on the computer where you have installed Conveyor QR.

Still having trouble? To differentiate between a network and computer-specific issue that could be preventing Mobius Conveyor QR from connecting, we recommend the following procedure:

  1. Install Mobius Conveyor QR on a (separate, if possible) computer that is not connected to the clinic's (or other affected) network.

  2. Validate that the QR code appears when you launch the software.

  3. Now, join that computer to the affected network and open Conveyor QR again. Validate that the QR code appears. If it does not, then you know the issue is within the network's configuration. If the QR code does appear, then you know the issue lies within a software setting or configuration on the affected computer.

As a last resort, you may need to install packet capture software (like Little Snitch for MacOS or Wireshark for Windows) to gain deeper insight into why Mobius Conveyor QR is unable to reach the above endpoints.

Finally, it's worth nothing that our Mobius Conveyor USB device doesn't require any software installation and completely removes the need for the Mobius Conveyor QR software. It's great for providers who find themselves frequently using computers that disallow software installation!
