Here's the fix for "aaaaaaa".

When dictating using Mobius Conveyor QR, sometimes the software types the letter "a" repeatedly instead of the words you are dictating. Most likely, you are trying to dictate into a remote desktop or virtual environment through software similar to Citrix, Microsoft Remote Desktop, TeamViewer, or another VNC Client.

Virtual/remote environments pose a unique challenge since the keystrokes sent to your local computer need to be accepted by the remote machine instead, which is operating elsewhere. Mobius Conveyor QR is optimized to work with most virtual environments, but some configurations still do not readily accept keystrokes.

There are three workarounds you can try to fix this issue; one, or all, of which should work well for you!

1. Try an "Alternate Typing Mode"

To try an alternative typing mode, simply right-click the green "Ready" box of Conveyor QR once you've scanned and connected. Once you right-click, you should see an option for two alternate typing modes in the list.

  • If the remote desktop you wish to dictate onto is a Windows computer, try selecting "Alt. Typing Mode: PC."

  • If the remote environment is running macOS, select "Alt. Typing Mode: Mac."

After selecting the correct mode, your subsequent dictations should appear, as spoken!

2. Install the Conveyor QR software remotely

A second option is to install the Conveyor QR software directly on the remote desktop. To do this, visit https://mobius.md/qr using a web browser on the remote desktop or virtual environment to start the download.

Once Conveyor QR is downloaded and installed on the remote desktop, you can simply launch the software, scan the QR code, and dictate normally. You no longer need to open Conveyor QR on your local computer and do not need to use an alternate typing mode.

Since your dictated words are now transmitted directly to the remote desktop and no longer need to first traverse through your local machine, Conveyor QR can type without any modification or interruption.

3. Use a Conveyor USB device

Sometimes installing Conveyor QR on the remote desktop is not possible due to security settings.

In this case, using a Mobius Conveyor USB device is a way to guarantee compatibility with remote desktops.

The Conveyor USB device provides a secure means of typing onto remote machines using Mobius Conveyor. Not only will it work well with remote computers, but it also allows you to dictate onto any computer you plug it into! The Conveyor USB does not require any software installation (so you can even skip scanning the QR code)!
