Overview:
A Caller ID device is a small hardware box that connects an EPOS terminal to an analogue phone line. When the phone rings the Caller ID device passes the phone number to the TouchPoint software which checks the number against the Customer file.

Using the Comet Called-ID with VoIP Lines:
The Comet Caller-ID is compatible with VoIP lines BUT only if one of the following is available:
- Your router has an analogue port
- An Analogue Telephone Adapter (ATA) is available for your VoIP system
Some VoIP providers provide routers with this functionality built in and some ATA's require configurations or adaptions to work with EPOS software - this would be the responsibility of your VoIP provider. You should ask your VoIP provider the following question:
- Do they provide an ATA (Analogue Telephone Adapter) that enables the capture of standard Caller ID and if they have the ability to configure that?
We understand that BT can provide this functionality but it requires a BT engineer site visit to configure.
Important: We cannot guarantee that the Comet Caller-ID is compatible with your VoIP system.
