Parking in Dublin

WHERE:

At the end of your journey, you must park and lock the bicycle at a public bike parking stand within the geofence (yellow area you will find in the map). The geofence covers most of Dublin city centre so you can park and end your ride at any public bike stand within this area.

Outside of Dublin City centre, key areas are covered by smaller geofences. You must park within these highlighted areas (see app map). In areas where there is no geofence you can temporarily pause and lock the bike but you cannot end your ride.

If you are travelling outside of the city centre, please check the map in the app before you depart so you are sure you can park and end your journey at your destination when you arrive.

IMPORTANT:

  • Failure to end your ride within the geofence area and submit a valid photo (showing the bike locked to a public bike stand) at the end of your ride will be subject to a €30 parking fine.

  • Parking the bike at a pole, fence, railing or on private property will be subject to a €30 parking fine.

  • Failure to submit a valid photo confirming your parking will be subject to a €30 parking fine. A valid photo is one which clearly and evidently shows the bike as locked to the public parking stand, the lock must be visible.

GEOFENCE PARKING AREAS:

Dublin City centre geofence area - park at any public bike stand within this highlighted area:

Outside of Dublin City centre you must park within the highlighted areas

In the grey area, you pause but you cannot end your journey.

HOW TO PARK:

For MOBY e-bikes, you have to lock using the combination lock around a public bike (sheffield stand), and then ending the rental will engage the electronic lock as well. The code for the combination lock is in the name of the bike you rented, labeled such as Lock Code 1234.

You have to make sure that the bike is parked correctly and that it is not obstructing the paths of pedestrians or other vehicles.

When the bike is parked correctly, you have to press the "END RENT" button in the app.

You will be asked to do a photo verification of the parked bike.

After you snap a photo (clearly showing the bike as locked), you submit it and the ride will end automatically followed by a beep sound from the bike. You will receive a pop-up confirmation that the bike was successfully returned.

In case the app does not work, please close your app, and wait for 15 seconds. Reopen the app and try the whole process again.

The customer MUST be next to the bike during the entire process with the app opened. Before stepping away from the bike, make sure that you have received the End confirmation message and that you do not have any rentals running.

For pedal bikes, just use the cable and thread it through the digital lock to the stand and for e-bikes, simply lock using the combination lock.
