All Moby bikes use wallet functionality to ensure you are not paying from your card for smaller transactions. This helps us keep the costs low for you and make the experience much smoother.
HERE IS HOW IT WORKS:
Before riding, you will need to have a Wallet balance at or above the minimum €5. When you register to Moby for the first time, your wallet balance will be €0 and a first top up is required. You can top up any amount starting from €10, with pre-set amounts of €10, €15 and €20 suggested in the app. There is also Bonus amounts included with each top up giving you even more value, so the more you top up, the more give you back as a reward.
a) IF THE COST OF YOUR RIDE IS LESS THAN YOUR WALLET BALANCE:
The ride ends normally, and you can see the remaining Wallet balance in your home screen.
b) IF THE COST OF YOUR RIDE IS ABOVE YOUR WALLET BALANCE:
In this case, once the your wallet balance reaches €3 an auto top up option is triggered to bring your balance back above the minimum amount. If you chose not to have the auto top up switched on, you must top up manually. If no top up is done, the ride will end when you reach a balance of €1 and you will need to top up and restart the ride.
You can use the funds in your Wallet to ride using PAYG or purchase subscriptions based on your preference. You must maintain a minimum balance of €5 to start a ride even if you have a valid subscription.
