Restore an earlier scene version

Bring back an available take for free and understand what Restore and Keep change.

Written by Daphne Tsai

If a better earlier take is listed in Versions, you can restore it without buying a new render.

Restore an available take

  1. Open the intended scene in the correct series and episode.

  2. Open Versions → Browse earlier renders.

  3. Choose the available take and select Restore.

  4. Read the confirmation before proceeding, then play the restored scene.

Restoring rolls back the script, clip and trims together. Check continuity with the next scene, especially if you changed the script or timing after that take.

What does Keep mean?

If the live take offers Keep after a revision, it lets you retain that clip and return to the script that made it. Read the confirmation: the pending revision is discarded.

If a version is unavailable

Wait for an active render or revision to finish before changing the scene’s version. If the history does not load, the control is missing, or the take you need is not listed, tell us the affected scene and what you expected in your current support conversation. If you have not started one, use Profile → Support. A screenshot helps but is not required.

Versions only restores available scene history. It does not guarantee recovery of deleted episodes, character images or overwritten outfits. Preserve the existing work and see Missing or overwritten work for those issues.

For worked examples and choosing between Trim, Restore and a new render, see the Scene Creation Guide.
