Launching Your VMP Journey
Congratulations on enrolling in our Virtual Mentorship program! We are thrilled to support you as you launch your Modern Classroom.
Take these four simple steps at the start of the program to ensure a successful learning experience!
π Meet your Expert Mentor!
Just ahead of our official program start date, you will receive an email from the Modern Classrooms Project team introducing you to your Expert Mentor. Within the email, you can learn more about your mentor through their introductory welcome video and their scheduling link for an introductory coaching call. Your mentor will follow up with you directly to introduce themselves and schedule a call!
βοΈ Schedule an Intro Coaching Call.
Your Expert Mentor is excited to get to know you, learn about your teaching experience, and your goals in the program. Use the link in your intro email to schedule an introductory coaching call with your Expert Mentor at a time that works for you. Note that our Expert Mentors are also actively teaching in the classroom, so if you can't find a mutual time to schedule your call, email them directly to find a convenient time. In the intro call, you can expect to discuss:
Your goals for the Mentorship Program and what compelled you to enroll
The three lesson plans you are considering building in the program and what materials you already have ready, if any!
Technology you have available such as a screen recorder, your learning management system, and any classroom technology available to you.
Helpful supports (and what is NOT helpful) as you embark on your learning experience
Anything else you'd like to share with your mentor to support your success.
π» Log in to the Moodle course platform: mentorship.modernclassrooms.org.
You received an email from MCP with your unique login credentials to access our course platform. Save this information and bookmark our course page! If you need to find your login credentials again, search for an email from The Modern Classrooms Project with the subject line: "π Welcome, [Your Name], to the Virtual Mentorship Program!"
Be sure to log into the course and change your password after your first login. This site will be the main place to learn and submit coursework. If you forgot your password, you can always reset it here.
π‘ Complete Mentee Orientation.
After logging into mentorship.modernclassrooms.org, click into your Mentorship Program course. There, you will see course tiles open up. Before working on course content, you're strongly encouraged to complete the Mentee Orientation module. Though this is optional, it's a great way to be oriented to the course and our model to start the program off strong.
Click into the Mentee Orientation tile to start your learning. But you can also simply click into the course module tiles to begin learning!

Is my Mentee Orientation graded? Does my score count toward completion?
Is my Mentee Orientation graded? Does my score count toward completion?
Not to worry! Mentee Orientation is fully optional. It is intended to help you get acquainted with our model and orient you to the Mentorship Program. The questions in the Orientation Mastery check are informal and will not affect your course completion status.
