π What are the Course Submissions?
There are five modules in the Virtual Mentorship Program. To complete the course, you will submit an assignment for each module. We call these assignments Submissions. Your submissions include:
Mastery Plan
Self-Pacing Plan
Blended Instruction Plan
Learning Design Plan*
Culminating Submission* (CS): this includes: 1) at least three original, teacher-created instructional videos, 2) a mastery check for each lesson, 3) a must-do element for the submission.
*Note: if you are an Administrator or Instructional Coach, Submissions #4 (Learning Design Plan) and #5 (Culminating Submission) ask specific prompts unique to your role.
π₯ How to Submit Your Work
Our course is designed to be asynchronous, self-paced, and mastery-based. In the Moodle course platform, you will watch videos at your own pace throughout each module with embedded (ungraded) questions to check for understanding. At the end of each module, you will submit parts of your three-lesson sequence. These are your course Submissions.
You will draft and finalize all of your submissions directly in your β¨Course Companion.β¨ This document houses the actual content of your submissions. This is also where you will find your Expert Mentor's feedback! You can find a link to your Course Companion in the right-hand menu of the Moodle course platform. Please do NOT create a copy of your Course Companion or change permissions to the document to ensure your mentor and the MCP team can view your progress.
When you are ready to submit work to your mentor for feedback, you will share a link to your Course Companion with your mentor directly within the Moodle course platform:
After clicking into the Submission, copy and paste the link to your Course Companion document and click through the prompts to fully submit your assignment.
π‘ Make sure to hit "SUBMIT FOR FEEDBACK" twice (a second pop-up will appear) to ensure submission! ‡οΈ
Since Question #2 is optional, you do not need to answer this question if you do not have additional resources or files to share with your mentor.

π Submitting Revision Requests
Revising and resubmitting work can be a natural part of learning and mastering our model! Please do not be concerned if your mentor requests a resubmission. This is to ensure that you have fully mastered the focus of each module.
To make revisions to a Submission based on your mentor's feedback, leverage your mentor's feedback to update your submission directly in your Course Companion.
Then, log back into the Moodle course platform to the specific module, and click "Redo submission" to submit a new attempt of your Submission.
π‘ If you are requested to revise your submission, be sure to log back into the Moodle course platform and click "Redo Submission" within the module.
Please do NOT work solely in your Course Companion (such as tagging your mentor in a comment), so that your course progress is tracked accurately. This ensures you will be able to receive your Certificate of Completion.

ποΈ Submission Deadlines
The Virtual Mentorship Program is asynchronous and self-paced, so you can complete work at the time that works best for you. We provide suggested deadlines for each of your five Submissions, to help keep you on pace. You are welcome to work ahead of or behind our suggested pace based on your individual needs!
π‘ Suggested deadlines are every other week during school year sessions and every week in the highly condensed summer sessions.
π The final deadline to complete all coursework for the October session is Sunday, January 19, 11:59 pm.
If you miss a submission deadline, that's okay! Again, these are suggested to help you stay on track to complete the course. However, completing within the session (and extension) timeline ensures that you maintain access to your mentor.
π‘ You can view all suggested deadlines for your session in the right-hand menu of the Moodle course platform AND in the Events and Submission Calendar. This is pinned in the Moodle course platform under "Personalized Supports."
β³ Extension Requests
A few weeks before the program end date, educators can request a one-time extension to continue working with their mentor. Extension requests are automatically granted to anyone who requests one.
How to request an extension:
You will see an Extension Request Form pinned at the top of your course platform. Typically, this form is available about 2-3 weeks before the end of the session. Once you see the form in the course platform, you can request an extension by submitting the form. You and your mentor will both receive an email confirming your extension.
How long is my extension?
During the school year sessions, your extension lasts for two weeks after the program end date.
During the intensive summer sessions, your extension lasts for one week after the program end date.
What are the benefits of requesting an extension?
Requesting an extension is an optional accountability measure you can take to set a near-term deadline for yourself and continue working with your mentor. Access to your mentor is only guaranteed during the session and extension period.
What if I didn't request an extension?
That's okay! You can continue working in the course after the session ends. You can, in fact, turn in submissions at any point after the program ends to receive your certificate of completion. However, we cannot guarantee that your mentor will be available to review your work. If they are not available, a different Expert Mentor will share feedback on your submission.
Are extension requests ever denied?
No, all extension requests are automatically honored to help keep you on track. In the case that your mentor is no longer able to support you through the extension period, we will find a different Expert Mentor to review your submissions and provide feedback.
FAQs on Submissions & Deadlines
What if I don't complete all submissions by the end of the program?
What if I don't complete all submissions by the end of the program?
While we hope you will stay on track through course completion, don't worry! You can continue working in the Moodle course and submit your work after the program ends to receive your certificate of completion. Your mentor will continue to review your work and share feedback unless they have notified us that they cannot do so. *Note: some educators enroll in the program as a part of a partnership, so you may be required to complete coursework by a certain date to receive benefits or stipends.

How can I check my progress in the course? What is my next submission?
There are several ways you can track your progress in the course.
Log into the course platform and click into your Mentorship Course. On the right-hand menu, you will see a progress tracker - "Your Submission Progress." As your submissions are graded by your mentor, the progress tracker will update with a green bar to indicate completion.
You can also check the feedback section located in your Course Companion to see which Submissions have met mastery!
You can see which modules are complete by looking for a green checkmark in the top right of each module tile.
β
The checkmark will appear once your mentor approves your Submission for the module β .

I didn't complete an Extension request in time. What happens now?
Not to worry! Extensions ensure that you continue to have access to your Expert Mentor through the end of the session and extension period. If you did not submit an extension request, you can still continue turning in submissions to receive your certificate of completion. If your Expert Mentor is available, they will share feedback, otherwise a different mentor will review your submissions.
