Your Expert Mentor is a critical source of support as you work through the course and launch your Modern Classroom! Lean on them to ask questions, learn how other educators implement the model, and seek thought partnership.
π€ Working with Your Mentor
Your Expert Mentor implements our model every day in their classroom. They are here to provide you with:
βοΈ An Introductory Coaching Call: At the start of your working relationship, you're encouraged to get to know your mentor through an intro call. Together, you'll discuss your learning goals, the context of your classroom and teaching environment, any questions you have, and strategies for success.
π Timely, Actionable Feedback on Submissions: Timely, specific feedback is critical for learning. Mentors are asked to provide specific and actionable feedback in your Course Companion within two business days for Submissions #1-4 and one week for your culminating submission. If your mentor is sick, traveling, or if something comes up, they will email you to let you know an updated timeline as soon as possible.
βοΈ Follow-on Coaching Calls: You are encouraged to leverage your Expert Mentor as you work through your submissions or to discuss feedback live. In a remote learning environment, it's often helpful to talk through feedback on a call!
π§ Ongoing Communication: Through the program end date, your mentor will be responsive to any questions via email to keep you on track! You can always ask questions and tag your mentor in your Course Companion.
π₯³ Closing Out & Feedback: MCP is always innovating to deliver the best possible professional development. Your mentor will check in with you at the end of the program and we will touch base with you through End of Module Reflections and a final feedback survey to gather feedback on your experience working with your mentor.

You can also see a score directly in the Moodle course platform module. Click into the module, navigate to the submission, and you will see a summary of your previous attempts with a grade of either "0" (Not Yet Mastered) or "1" (Complete). Your mentor receives regular reminders to review any open submissions assigned to them. If you do not see the feedback in your Course Companion or a score in the course platform, you can email your mentor directly to check in on any updates and communicate about an updated feedback timeline.
