Gain an overview of what the VMP is and what to expect.

Written by Rob

Our Virtual Mentorship Program (VMP) offers educators a guided, hands-on experience to learn our model and generate classroom-ready materials to launch your Modern Classroom through tailored support from a mentor educator.

What is the VMP?

  • The Mentorship Program is a self-paced, asynchronous course with suggested deadlines for coursework throughout. Once enrolled, you will be paired with an Expert Mentor, hold introductory and continuous coaching calls, and submit a series of lessons through our course platform, with actionable feedback from your Expert Mentor.

  • You can expect to spend about 25-30 hours working on your course submissions with guidance from your mentor.

  • Check out examples of lessons you will create in the VMP!

When is the program offered? Learn the best time to enroll.

  • Twice in the school year over 12-week sessions (for example, October - January and again from January - April).

  • Twice in the summer over shortened 5-week sessions (for example, May - June and again from June - July).

How do I enroll?

What is the difference between the Free Course and the Virtual Mentorship Program?

  • Check out this article which explains the difference! Through the VMP, you'll receive personalized coaching from an Expert Mentor, feedback on lesson materials, access to premium tech subscriptions, graduate credits/certified credentials, and lifetime access to resources to transform your classrooms.

What will I gain from the Virtual Mentorship Program?

  • Personalized mentorship: educators enrolled in the VMP are individually paired with an Expert Modern Classroom Mentor, highly experienced and skilled educators who are actively teaching, and trained to coach and support the next generation of Modern Classroom educators. You will receive 1:1 coaching calls, actionable feedback on your lesson plans, and receive tailored mentorship to launch your Modern Classroom.

  • Classroom-ready lesson plans: Coming out of the VMP, you will have prepared and received feedback on at least three lesson plans to help you launch your Modern Classroom.

  • Lifetime access to resources, including premium tech subscriptions: educators enrolled in VMP will maintain lifetime access to Modern Classroom resources as well as lifetime premium access to tech subscriptions such as Screenpal.

  • Certified Credentials: educators who complete the VMP are eligible to receive graduate degree credits and micro-credentials. Educators in select states can also receive continuing teacher and leader education credits.

  • Certificate of Completion: showcase your hard work! You will earn a certificate of completion after completing all modules of the course.

  • A Global Community of Educators: you will gain access to Modern Classroom Project's global community of educators through our educator forums, events, and more. Join our community to ask questions, seek advice, share experiences, and build your community of support.

What do educators say about the program?

  • The average rating of our programs is well above 9/10 and over 95% of educators would recommend our programs to a colleague. Our mentors receive an average satisfaction score of 9.72 of 10 from VMP educators.
