Channel Overview

Slack Channel Rules

To help keep our community a safe and empowering space for all members to feel supported and welcome, please abide by our community guidelines and rules.

*Failure to adhere to guidelines will result in post-removal and/or Slack removal

🚫 Please refrain from selling or self-promotion

  • We understand the power of a strong network naturally leads members to doing business with each other, and we encourage this connection across our community. It is, however, critical that Monday Girl Social Club is a trusted community for our members. We have a strict non-solicitation policy and do not allow proactive sales or marketing efforts within the Monday Girl community for the sole purpose of driving future business.

  • Our no-solicitation policy also helps prevent our Slack channels from being clogged up with promotional content and/or spam.

  • If you are unsure if your post falls under promotional or solicitation, please refer to our FAQ here

  • Engaging in MLM in the group or in direct messages is also not welcome here.

  • We post a monthly promotion-friendly post - a thread where self-promotion and sharing external links are welcome. Outside of this post, any self-promotional or solicitation posts will be removed.

  • If you wish to promote a product, service, or event, please contact the community administrators for sponsorship or advertising opportunities.

🚫Avoid using @here and @everyone

Avoid using @here and @everyone commands. These notifications can be disruptive, especially in large channels.

🚫 Avoid sharing the same post to multiple channels

Refrain from sharing the same post across multiple channels. It's important to keep content relevant and reduce redundancy. Choose the most suitable channel for your post, and trust that the right individuals will see it. If you are unsure which channel is best for your post, you can DM Monday Girl and we’re happy to provide a recommendation or you can refer to our channel overview here.

πŸ”Ž Search before you post

Utilize the search function to check if your question or topic has already been addressed to avoid repetition.

🚫 Coaching solicitation is not allowed

Career, wellness, or life coaches are welcome to join our community, share their expertise, and engage in meaningful discussions. However, it is strictly prohibited to promote or solicit coaching services within our Slack channels. This includes:

  1. Promoting Services:

    • Sharing promotional materials, advertisements, or direct solicitations for coaching services.

  2. Service Solicitation:

    • Indirectly soliciting services by attempting to funnel members to external platforms, personal websites, or through private messages.

  3. Disguised Promotions:

    • Engaging in discussions with the primary intent of service promotion rather than genuine contribution to the topic at hand.

This rule ensures that our Slack channels remain a platform for authentic interaction, collaboration, and support, free from commercial solicitations.

🚫 No harassment policy

We are committed to maintaining a respectful and harassment-free environment for all members. Harassment in any form, including but not limited to, sexual harassment, verbal abuse, or discrimination based on gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation, will not be tolerated. Any member who engages in harassment will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of membership.

πŸ“Œ Please refer to our full Member Code of Conduct here.

🚫 No unsolicited job referrals or requests for resume reviews

Consistent with our community's commitment to fostering trust and authentic connections, we firmly disallow any unsolicited job referrals or resume review requests in the absence of an already established relationship. Our community and platform are designed to foster genuine connections and mutual respect.

Engaging in transactional networking, such as asking for job referrals or resume critiques from members you have not formed a genuine relationship with, undermines the spirit of our community. Networking should be based on meaningful interactions and mutual support, not solely on personal gain. Violation of this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of membership.

🚫 Policy on Legal, Accounting, and HR Queries

We do not permit the use of Monday Girl for seeking or providing legal, accounting, or HR support via Mentor Office Hours or the Slack Group Chat. These fields require specialized knowledge and are subject to regulatory and ethical standards that our platform and members might not be equipped to meet. To ensure the safety and reliability of advice, as well as to avoid potential liabilities or misunderstandings, such queries and discussions will be removed from our platform.

Thank you for adhering to these guidelines, which are intended to foster a collaborative and respectful environment. Your adherence ensures our communication on Slack remains effective and enjoyable for everyone.

πŸ“Œ Please refer to our full Member Code of Conduct here. If you would like make an Anonymous Policy Violation Report, please view our form here.

FAQ

Why is there no longer an anonymous feature on Slack?

We have decided to remove the anonymous posting feature from our Slack channel to enhance the quality and relevance of our discussions. This change supports our commitment to fostering a community where interactions are genuine, respectful, and constructive. By encouraging members to stand behind their words, we aim to promote accountability and trust, ensuring that every conversation contributes positively to our collective goal of professional growth and empowerment.

What constitutes a self-promotional or solicitation post?

Self-promotional or solicitation posts are those that primarily serve to promote an individual's or organization's interests, rather than contributing to the collaborative and supportive environment of our Slack workspace. Below are examples of self-promotional or solicitation posts that are not allowed:

Event Links:

Sharing links to external events, paid or free. Our channels are not designed for event promotion.

Social Media Profiles:

Sharing links to personal or professional social media profiles is not allowed as it serves as self-promotion.

Business Referrals:

Asking for business referrals or promoting services such as career or life coaching is considered solicitation and is not allowed.

Product or Service Promotion:

Promoting any products or services, even if they are related to the channel topic, is not allowed.

Our Slack channels are designed to foster open, collaborative discussions and to support our collective goals. Any post that diverts from these objectives, especially for personal gain or promotion, goes against our community guidelines. If you are unsure whether a post might be self-promotional or solicitation, feel free to send us a DM on Slack!

Requesting channels, suggestions, & feedback

Want to request a new channel?

⚠️ Please Read before Submitting:

  • We typically limit the number of Slack channels to prevent overwhelm and maintain a focused and engaging communication environment. In the past, having too many channels led to scattered conversations, which in turn affected engagement negatively. With fewer channels, members find it easier to keep track of discussions, respond promptly, and maintain a higher level of engagement.

  • We usually only initiate new channels with at least 30 active members. Due to the high volume of Slack channel requests we receive weekly, we prioritize those with significant demand.

  • Admin/Moderator: Before you submit an idea, would you be willing to be an admin or channel moderator for it? Requests with volunteers for moderators will be prioritized above channel requests without moderator volunteers.

  • If there is a period of over 2-3 weeks of no channel activity, please note we will remove the channel to avoid cluttering our community channels
