How do I close my Monorail account, and what happens afterwards?

To close your Monorail account, follow these steps:

Step 1: Liquidate or withdraw your funds

Portfolio accounts: Go to Withdraw → click the green “Request a Liquidation” link. After the liquidation request, funds will usually be available the next business day. Please log in first thing in the morning to withdraw them to your linked bank account.

Stocks: Sell individual stocks in the app. Funds are typically available the next business day.

Retirement accounts (IRA, SEP, Roth IRA): Please request a live agent to process the liquidation and withdrawal.
Note: Early withdrawals before age 59½ may incur IRS penalties.

Also, cancel the $3 subscription by going to: Menu → Subscriptions → Cancel Subscription

Step 2: Request account closure

Once your account balance is $0.00, open the Customer Support chat or email support@monorail.com and request a live agent to close your account.

Step 3: Processing

Account closure may take up to 3 business days, depending on any pending verifications or liquidations.

Important: Do NOT unlink your bank account at any time during the liquidation and withdrawal process, as it is required to receive your funds
