Wouldn't it be great to be able to offer your employees the same perks for their EV as they would have with a fossil fuel car? We at Monta believe so too! That's why we created the wonderful feature of Sponsored Charge Points.

As soon as an employee has completed a charge at home, the reimbursement is transferred from the company's Monta Wallet to the employee's Monta Wallet. The company only pays for the electricity used for the company's electric car. Simple!

Overview

Section A: Prerequisites and Notes

1. Prerequisites

a) Employees must have installed their charge point at home address and connected it to Monta successfully.

Please follow step-by-step instructions on how to add, connect, and integrate a charge point to Monta here for more guidance.

b) The employer must have created a professional team, that is upgraded to Enterprise/Business, in the Monta App.

If you haven't done it yet, follow the guide here.

2. Notes

For Sponsored Charge Points to work successfully, there are a few details to consider:

  • There must be 2 separate teams.

    • One Enterprise/Business team, which is doing to sponsoring (employer).

    • One Personal team, which is receiving the funds (employee).

  • The charge point must be registered under the Personal team of the employee (recipient).

  • If a Sponsored Charge Point is moved to another user/team, the link will break. If you need to move the charge point, you need to link it again.

  • The employee must choose the "Sponsored charge by" payment method every time they charge. This means that the employee must manually swipe to start a charge. They cannot use Auto Start or Auto SmartCharge if they want to be sponsored for the charge.

Section B: Employee(s) sends a link code to the employer

1. Under navigation "Chargers", the employee finds the charge point and clicks on settings βš™οΈ

2. Scroll down and click on "Transfer Charge Point"

3. Click on "Sponsored Charge Point"

4. Click on "Generate a link code"

Here, the employee will see an orange button called "Generate a link code". They click on it and this will create a code. Press on "Copy".

Please note that the code will expire in 14 days. After copying the code, they share it with you, the employer.

5. How to get sponsored

Once the charge point has been linked to the Enterprise team, the employee will be able to choose the sponsored charging every time they charge at their home charger.

The employee must choose the "Sponsored charge by" payment method every time they charge. This means that the employee must manually swipe to start a charge. They cannot use Auto Start or Auto SmartCharge if they want to be sponsored for the charge.

Section C: Employer(s) need to link employee's charge points

Once you receive the link code, you need to follow the steps here:

1. Under navigation "Chargers", find the Enterprise/Business team that is going to sponsor the charge point

If you haven't created a professional team yet, follow the guide here.

If you have not upgraded to an Enterprise/Business team, follow the guide here.

2. Click on "Sponsored Charge Points"

3. Click on "+ Link Charge Point"

4. Insert the code and click on "Link charge point"

5. Insert the amount you wish to reimburse per kWh

The price you set here is how much the employee is going to receive for each charged kWh on their charge point.

Click on "Complete setup" and you are done!

The setup of a sponsored charge point is now completed and employee(s) will be reimbursed for charging at the home charge point. πŸ‘

For every completed charge the employee will receive funds in their Monta Wallet via the employer's Monta Wallet.

Repeat the process for each charge point you wish to sponsor.
