Moonbuddy includes four pre-set breathing rhythms, each carefully designed for children between 6 and 12 years old. Children naturally breathe faster than adults, so these rhythms are slightly quicker and more intuitive for them to follow.

You can switch between the four exercises by pressing the start button. Each rhythm is indicated by a different light color:

  • Red light: 10.5 breaths per minute
2.8 seconds inhale, 2.8 seconds exhale

  • Blue light: 9 breaths per minute with a pause and longer exhale
2.8 seconds inhale, 0.4 seconds pause, 3.5 seconds exhale

  • Green light: 8.5 breaths per minute
3.5 seconds inhale, 3.5 seconds exhale

  • Yellow light: 6 breaths per minute
5 seconds inhale, 5 seconds exhale

Each exercise lasts 4 minutes, after which moonbuddy turns off automatically.

Because the breathing pace is tailored to children, we don’t recommend using moonbuddy as an adult. Looking for more control over your breathing rhythm? You might want to check out moonbird instead.
