My moonbird is not starting in standalone mode

Having trouble starting your moonbird without the app? Here’s what to check.

In 99% of the cases, this happens because your moonbird is still in travel mode.

Travel mode makes moonbird less sensitive, so it only starts when it detects a real heartbeat. If your hands are cold or placement isn’t perfect, it might not respond.

To fix this:

  • Open the app

  • Go to Settings

  • Toggle travel mode OFF to return to regular sensitivity

  • Close app and wait 30 seconds

Still not working? Try the following:

  • Make sure the app is closed

  • Moonbird can’t start in standalone mode if it’s still connected to the app. Fully close the app and wait 30 seconds

  • Place your thumb gently on the sensor, not too hard, not too soft

  • Wait 5 seconds after placing your thumb, that’s how long it takes to begin

Once these are sorted, your moonbird should start the exercise like usual. Still stuck? Just drop us a message, we’ll help you breathe easy again.
