Overview
Customers may notice limited availability of Market Movers (Actives, Gainers, Losers) for Australian (AU) and New Zealand (NZ) market indexes. This article explains the cause of the change, what is impacted, and which Market Movers features continue to work as expected.
Below is how the Market Movers section looks.
What Has Changed?
Market Movers for certain Australian and New Zealand indexes depend on index‑constituent data. This constituent data is no longer available for the following index families:
S&P/ASX indexes (Australia)
S&P/NZX indexes (New Zealand)
Because the underlying constituent data has been discontinued, Market Movers cannot be generated for these specific indexes.
Why This Impacts Market Movers
Market Movers features—such as Actives, Gainers, and Losers—are calculated using the securities that make up an index. These calculations require access to each index’s full list of constituents.
A change in data distribution rights prevents us from receiving constituent data for S&P/ASX and S&P/NZX indexes. Without this data, Market Movers cannot be produced for the affected markets.
What Is Affected?
Unavailable
Market Movers (Actives, Gainers, Losers) for:
Australian S&P/ASX indexes
New Zealand S&P/NZX indexes
This includes:
S&P/ASX 200
S&P/ASX 300
S&P/NZX 50
All related S&P‑licensed AU/NZ indexes
What Is Not Affected?
Market Movers continues to function normally for all non‑AU/NZ markets. This includes major global indexes such as:
Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA)
Nasdaq
S&P 500
Other supported international market indexes
There is no broader system issue beyond the AU/NZ index scope.
Is This a System Issue?
No. This is not a defect or system outage.
The platform continues to operate correctly. The limitation stems solely from the unavailability of licensed index‑constituent data for the AU/NZ markets.
What Happens Next?
Market Movers for AU/NZ indexes can only resume if access to an alternative, licensed data source becomes available.
If there are any changes to data accessibility, updates will be communicated promptly.
