Monitoring your pitch placements is critical for tracking success and demonstrating results. Muck Rack offers both automatic and manual options to connect coverage to your pitching efforts.

Automatically Detect Coverage from Pitches

Tracking how your pitches lead to media coverage is key to showing the impact of your PR work—but manually linking coverage to outreach can be time-consuming and inconsistent.

Muck Rack’s Automatic Pitch Placement Detection uses AI to suggest which articles are likely the result of your pitches. That means faster reporting, less manual effort, and more proof of your team’s success.

Watch the video below or take this product tour to see this feature in action!

How it works

When you send a pitch from within Muck Rack, our AI scans new coverage added to your Coverage Reports and looks for three types of matching signals:

  • Direct quotes from your pitch

  • Shared language (similar words and phrases)

  • Mentioned Entities like people, organizations, products, or events

Each article is scored based on these criteria. If it’s a high-confidence match, Muck Rack will alert you with a suggested Pitch Placement.

Where to view your pitch placements

Email alerts

You’ll receive email notifications twice daily (at 4 AM and 4 PM UTC) when new placements are detected.

Each email shows:

  • The matched article

  • The pitch it’s connected to

  • A breakdown of why it was matched (quote, language, entities)

From the email, you can:

  • Confirm the placement immediately

  • View the article in your Coverage Report for more details
