Podcast Monitoring
Podcast Monitoring brings podcast episode search and monitoring directly into Muck Rack. From the Podcasts tab in Search, you can find spoken mentions across full transcripts, listen to the exact moment without leaving the platform, and create Podcast Trackers that flow into your existing Alerts — alongside articles, broadcast, and social.
Podcast coverage at a glance:
2.4M+ podcasts indexed in the database
75,000+ podcasts with full searchable English transcripts
Transcript backfill targets episodes published from January 2025 onward (some episodes may go back further)
Exclusive to Standard and Premier:
Podcast Monitoring is included at no additional cost in Standard and Premier subscription plans. See our Pricing page for details.
Note: Podcast data is not currently available in Coverage Reports or Dashboards. Podcast Trackers and Alerts capture mentions in real time; reporting integration will follow in a future release.
Find Podcast Mentions in the Podcasts Tab
The Podcasts tab in Search lets you find episodes by keyword or Boolean query across episode transcripts, titles, descriptions, and host/guest names.
Select the Podcasts tab from the Search bar.
Enter a keyword or Boolean query in the search field and select Search.
Review and refine results using the filters in the left-hand panel. Keywords will appear highlighted in yellow within search results.
Available filters include:
Note: Host and guest names are searchable as plain text within the search bar but are not currently available as standalone filters. To narrow by host or guest, include their name in your Boolean query.
Learn More About Boolean Search:
For tips on building precise queries, see Boolean Search.
View an Episode
Select any episode card from your results to open the Episode Detail Page.
Each detail page includes:
The full episode transcript, with keyword matches highlighted
An embedded audio player with playback controls (play/pause, speed, rewind, forward)
Episode metadata: publish date, duration, host(s), guest(s), and description
Links to the full Podcast show page, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify
A People section showing matched hosts, guests, and producers
Note: Results in the Podcasts tab are ranked by transcript matches first, followed by description matches.
Add People to a Pitch or Media List
Select the name of a person from the Episode Detail Page to view their journalist profile. From there, add them to a Pitch or Media List.
Create a Podcast Tracker
Podcast Trackers monitor podcast mentions automatically as new episodes are published. Once a tracker is created, you can include it in one or more Alerts alongside other tracker types.
From the Podcasts tab, run a search using your desired keywords or Boolean query.
Apply any filters that should be part of the tracker's criteria (such as Podcast Series or Date Range).
Select Create Tracker from the search results page, confirm the tracker name and search criteria, then Save.
Note: Podcast Trackers are a distinct tracker type from Articles and Broadcast. You can combine multiple tracker types within a single Alert.
Add a Podcast Tracker to an Alert
To monitor podcast mentions on an ongoing basis, you can also attach your Podcast Tracker to a new or existing Alert. Alerts can be delivered via Email or Slack.
Learn More About Alerts:
For step-by-step instructions, see Introduction to Alerts and Create a New Alert.
Note on transcript coverage:
Of the 2.4M+ podcasts in our database, approximately 75,000 have full searchable English transcripts (selected for reach and engagement). For podcasts outside this set, alerts can only match keywords in episode titles and descriptions. If you find a podcast that should be covered, contact Support to request a review.
