In order to open and access an organization's setlist in Playback a person in the organization would need:

  • The proper User Permission level for opening and/or editing the setlist

  • The Required Subscription(s) for accessing the Tracks, Ambient Pads, etc. included in the setlist and app being used.

Note: Playback access is not recommended for rehearsal use in most scenarios. Instead, organizations should look toward RehearsalMix for their team to rehearse from anywhere and learn the songs in the arrangements made in Playback. To learn more, see Getting Start | RehearsalMix.

User Roles and Permissions

Here's a breakdown of what user roles can do when opening an organization's setlist in Playback.

  1. Organization and Team Admins: Open, edit and save to Cloud any Setlist in the organization

  2. Team Leaders: Open, Edit, and Save to cloud any Setlist they are added to on MultiTracks.com or in ChartBuilder

  3. Team Members: Open and locally edit any Setlists they are added to on MultiTracks.com or in ChartBuilder. Team members cannot overwrite the saved Cloud version of a shared Setlist.

Required Subscriptions for Sharing Playback Access

Members of an organization needing access to setlists in Playback will have to consider the following subscription and permission requirements, based on the organization's needs. There are two scenarios listed below.

  1. Organizations utilizing Playback Rentals will need:

    • Playback Rental Permission: This permission can be assigned from the People Page, and gives a team member permission to use an organization’s rentals to unlock tracks on their own device.
NOTE: This should only be granted to admins or music directors collaborating on setlists for live use.

    • Playback Feature Access

      • If using Playback on an iOS or iPadOS device, no further access may be needed for that team member.
A Playback Pro or Playback Premium seat may be necessary if that user needs access to those paid features. (Feature Breakdown Link)

      • If using Playback on a MacOS device, a Playback Premium seat is required for any user needing access on a MacOS device.

    • Other content: If the team member needs access to Cloud Song or Purchased songs, or Purchased Ambient Pads, that team member would also need a Playback Team Sharing seat. (Learn more)

  2. Organizations purchasing track content will need:

    • Playback Team Sharing Seat: Playback Team Sharing seats are a license to share an organization’s purchased content and cloud content with other members of their MultiTracks.com organization. (Learn More)
