User Roles Explained: Multi-Brand

Written by Diana Chalem

Roles help your team collaborate safely by defining what each person can do in your account.

Munch has 4 roles:

  • Owner

  • Admin

  • Publisher

  • Member

Role summary (quick guide)

Owner

Best for: the person who owns billing and plan decisions.

  • Full access to everything

  • The only role that can manage billing actions (upgrade/cancel/change plan)

  • Can manage brands and team members

Admin

Best for: team leads who manage the account day-to-day.

  • Can manage brands

  • Can invite/remove team members

  • Can publish content (post now, schedule, edit scheduled posts)

  • Billing actions are visible but locked (Owner-only)

Publisher

Best for: teammates who need to publish content, but shouldn’t manage the account.

  • Can view and edit content

  • Can publish content (post now, schedule, edit scheduled posts)

  • Cannot manage team members or brands

  • Cannot manage billing

Member

Best for: teammates who support content creation, but shouldn’t publish.

  • Can view and edit content

  • Cannot publish (post now/schedule/edit scheduled posts)

  • Cannot manage team members or brands

  • Cannot manage billing

Notes

  • Roles apply at the account level, not per brand. A person has the same role across all brands in the account.

  • If you can’t access a button or setting, it’s likely due to your role.
